tl;dr - lets learn it.

ok people, i am introducing something new to you that you might not understand. A lot of people on this board post huge stories( grandma thread, news articles, personal stories, etc.). These posts are SUPER long to read, some people dont have the time to read them or are just to lazy. tl;dr stands for "to long, didn't read". The point im trying to pass here is, at the end of your long stories, type this:

tl;dr- donkey bites 2 old guys, donkey gets sent to jail, later is released.

This saves people who dont want to read your 10 paragraph post. It's just a convenience to others, this is why i am introducing it to you all.

tl;dr- use this tool so lazy people dont have to read your long posts.

Or couldn't we just use that as a response to those long drawn out stories?

For example

Dshiznit1489 posts.....

...blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah ...........blah blah......

And tiggerlee responds with...

...tl;dr

and moves on.

You guys don't know what long posts are!

I'll step into the line of fire and be the thread a-hole but if there is a really long thread and you are too impatient to read it and yet you still feel it is your god given right to insult the original poster by actually telling them that their efforts weren't worth your precious time (yet you used some to type a bs response!), you've got some serious issues to work out and perhaps a forum isn't the best place for you to be spending all of you precious valuable quality time.

Here's a better idea, leave the thread if you don't want to read it.

I wouldn't diss on the grandma thread, I think she probably works pretty hard and that and it is good writing.
