I fell in love with the original Star Trek as only a 6-year-old boy can and I think that immunized me from ever becoming a trekkie in later life. I thought it was a great re-telling of the original story.

I have yet to see this movie and plan on it next weekend. I didn't care much for original Star Trek but only the Next Generation series and watched all its episodes and movies. Looking forward to this one. And who the hell cannot like THE original trilogy aka Star Wars?! Or even LoTR for that matter, both great movies!

As a person who's always loved Star Trek I thought it was fantastic. I want to go see it again. If you are't a Star Trek fan, you would probably still like it. If you were a Star Trek fan then you probably caught on to the many subtle things that pay homage to the franchise over the years. There were many things from Capt Kirk getting with the green alien girl to the "red shirt" dying. While I'm not a trekkie as they go to conventions, I do consider myself a pretty strong follower of the franchise. I thought it was done wonderfully.

i was lucky enough to have a theater which showed it in digital format. Incredible. The couple who sat in front of me saw it opening night in the non-digital format first. They said the digital version blew it away.
i dont really plan to check it out again just to see if the non-digital version isnt as good but if you have the opportunity to do so, definitely go see it at a digital theater.

Just saw it on IMAX and thought it was awesome! I have been watching Star Trek since the beginning and thought the new cast picked up the subtitles of the original members fairly well.
Capt. Kirk is the ultimate player. Blue alien chick, green or what ever!

I was 10 when Star Trek the original series came out. I didn't like it. It took almost 10 years and the reruns coming on, before I began to enjoy the show. I haven't missed an episode of any of the various TV shows or the movies. I haven't seen this new one yet, but I will soon.
