About a week ago it rained. I had my 8 parked outside because I was doing some work in the garage and needed some room. After working all day I decided to take my g/f out for dinner.
By now it had stopped raining and was turning out to be a nice night. As were getting in the car I was "crying" about my 8 being all wet. :D We get in the car and I start her up (the car) let her warm up for about 30 secs (again the car). As I start to back out I notice my g/f hand going towards the sun roof button. I yell at her "DONT HIT IT"!!!! To late the sun roof starts to retract and a wall of water pours in.
Now I was MAD!! We both were soaked and some how the interior only had a few small drops of water on the center console.
The moral of this story... Don't let anyone in your car who likes to hit buttons.

I would have just started laughing unless we were late somewhere then I would have been a little miffed, but laughed about it later
I hope you were at least headed home after that. And at least the heaters work pretty well :D
i remember the first time this happenned to me, i was having a bad day so i decided to go out for a drive, sit down turn on the car, hit the suroof and splash, turn off the car and scream.

I'd had the car for a bit. We were leaving a party. It wasn't raining, but the car was soaking wet. A couple friends came out to say goodbye, and I thought to myself... "I don't want to roll down the window, because water will get inside, and they wouldn't want to bend down and talk in the window, so I'll just open the sunroof to talk to them"... Bzzzz SPLOOOSHH.
For the record, I *HATE* getting wet when I don't have to be wet. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever done.
Good thing that the airconditioner with the heat on high dried the car out pretty quick.
did that once in my old car...that's the thing you usually do once in a car, and after that you REMEMBER
I've never done it but I had it done to me -- in a Mazda, no less, a 626. My gf opened the sunroof and I was the only one who got splashed. She thought it was hilarious.
She also told me that one time she opened the roof while merging from an on-ramp. A driver behind her zoomed past and gave her the finger.
The she realized she was opening the roof with her middle finger. People behind her, seeing that one digit raised, thought she was flipping them off!
It's something that is hard to understand WHY she would have done that knowing it's been raining, but understanding that we all do dumb things somtimes.
AGAIN, I'm not calling her dumb or anything...I can see myself doing something like that. Don't you just love buttons...lol
my old vw bug had a sunroof that retractred into the ceiling once the seals went it'd fill up with water, you'd never know until you hit the brakes a ways down the street and then woosh a good 5 gallon bath.

The moral of this story should be...when you get done being upset at this type of thing imagine the fun you could have had going back inside and "drying" each other off. :p

My first year of college was somewhere with snow, which I'd never had to deal with before. Soooo.... I get in the car one day to start it up so that it can warm up while I'm de-snowing it, and somehow hit the sunroof switch, which had a habit of sticking in the cold.
After I finished damning the car, the state, the weather and everything else I hated at the moment, I turned off the heat, quickly cleaned off the car and drove (windows down to keep the snow in the car frozen) to the nearest car wash that had a vacuum. A few quarters later and I had vacuumed the still-frozen snow out of the car before it melted. I then unplugged the sunroof switch until the snowy weather had passed, to prevent a repeat. A few months later I transfered to a school in Florida, where I spent the rest of my undergrad years 100% snow-free.

LOL!!!! Maybe I don't miss my sun roof that much anymore...LOL
