Congratulations! My baby girl just advanced to an infant from a newborn. You should consider a stroller that'll fit in the trunk. I use my car very frequently, so I ditched the car seat's base to allow the front seat not to sit so close to the dash board, and I bought the Kolcraft Contours 3 that I can disassemble to fit. Just a few things to consider, buy something that will last up to six months, you'll be surprised how they blossom so quick

Bought the Alpha Omega Elite two weeks ago. Tested it in the car today without the bottom seat cushion. It fits but the front seat will only be as good as storage

congrats! from one father of a little girl to another, allow me to impart some wisdom which a buddy of mine told me the day i found out wife was pregnant, "Remember, with boys, all you have to worry about it one *****. with girls, you have to worry about all of them."
Here's the munchkin when i could still get her in the carrier into the 8.
here's a more recent one of her:
Highly recommend though that you get yourself a true dad mobile. I found a honda crv for $5k which works so much better than the 8 for hauling kids and kid stuffs. that and i park the 8 in the winter/bad weather.
Enjoy!
