Unhappy Sad :(

so last night me and the gf went out to dinner with her parents and decided to stay over at their place since its a 45 min drive back home so we wake up this morning both of us were off from work and drive home to find this ... see pics ... house burned down with just the bricks still standing ... its me and the gfs first house its been in my family for a few years now and was built on property we have had in my family for a long time ... the cops have a parameter set up as a neighbor told em they saw someone messing around in my yard so as of now its an arsen case ... noone was hurt and the gfs dog managed to get out of the house too so its all good but the house is gone ... luckily my new camaro was at my dads house as still hadnt made room in the garage but my 335 and my gfs xterra (her second car) are both totally destroyed according to the cops so is EVERYTHING else in the house ... will get pics when i get a chance to get closer but as of now the cops wont let anyone near ... im staying with my dad a few streets down waiting to see what happens with the insurance and stuff ... gf is freaked out too ... again pardon the pics but all i have is my bbery the dark pic is one my neighbor from a few houses over sent me when i talked to him about what happened he took it last night (called me 5 times but my phone was off)

Wow, that would completely rock my world and put me at a standstill for a while. I hope you had good insurance coverage. Keep your head up and keep moving, you'll get through it.

think about the silver lining, the one night you stayed away from home is when this happened... think about the possible outcome had you been home sleeping, and/or your family pets not making it out. materialistic items can be replaced, loss of loved ones cannot.

sorry for your loss and not trying to make light of it, just trying to point out the plus sides in a tragic situation.

^ +1. That is exactly how my grandmother saw it when she made a last minute reverse decision to go with my parents to visit family in Florida years ago. Her house blew up, literally. Leaking propane in the house got wif of some heat and boom. The only thing left were some family pictures and scriptures she used from the bible. She laughed over the whole thing.

Always try to stay optimistic.

^ totally agree with you bro ... honestly man ive been fine and your 100% right who knows what would have happened had we been home ... i now know there were at least 2 BIG explosions due to the cars and their gas plus the fire started at the bottom our bedroom is on the top floor (3 story house) had we been in there we probably wouldnt have made it ... its only materials lost no bigge at lease me n her are safe ... im kinda pissed that someone would do this but thats about all ... the gf hasnt taken it that way though she really put alot of effort into the past few weeks but she will be fine ... i didnt even get out of the car just parked by the parameter and talked to the cops and my neighbor ... i mean what am i gonna get by going in and looking at everything destroyed ... as for the insurance its on my dads policy and he has really good insurance plus my family has had coverage from them for decades now so they treat us really well so we should be ok ...

Stuff can be replaced. You and your wife and the dog are okay. It sucks, but things will hopefully work out in the end.

You are so lucky to not be in the house when this happened. Any idea who the person would be or if anyone has a grudge against you? Good luck with recovering your losses and sorry to see this happen.

yup 45 mins did save my life ... the 8 did too coz part of the reason we didnt wanna drive back is coz of the gas mileage on the 8 ... i really hope they catch the guy too ... the cops have been talking to me all day and seem like theyre trying so i hope they find him ... i just took the firefighters out to lunch to thank em for saving the dog and theyve been telling me what they saw and yea if we were home it woulda required a miracle for either of us to live
