RX8 Club Diet Support Group

I was reading the biscuit thread and saw that a few people mentioned diets.

Well.......why not start a thread/support group. We could post our weight and how much we want to lose total. Or just how much we want to lose. Then each week on a designated day, have a weight in and post the "new" weight along with total pounds lost; or just the weight lost..

During the week, could talk about exercise, diet, recipes, or just general encouragement.

Send random private messages of encouragement also.

Who knows, the people who live close to each other could even meet for exercise if time permits.

Or we could say forget it and eat more biscuits.

Crap. I forgot to take my vitamins too. I'll do that when I get home.
Funny, I don't long to be Richard Simmons, but I do share a birthday with him.

My father did Atkins and lost 40lbs with no excersize involved!...

I must say LOW CARB all the way if you really want to lose weight...if you want to loose it faster start working out with the diet. I know almost anything about the diet since I was the one managing his diet since his doctor said loose the weight or he could have a stroke/heart problems/etc.

Ok, I'll bite. I'm embarassed to say this since I had planned to lose weight over the winter and all I did was gain instead...

I'm 6'0" and I weigh 400lbs. :o

I'd like to get down to 250lbs, or a 38" waist which ever comes first. Now that my life has settled down just a little (I mean a really tiny bit), I plan to join the gym and go back on a low carb diet.

5'9" and 270 here. I'm shooting for 160 or a 34' inch waist.

WOW! Me and my Penguin-Friend have something in common! I'm 6'1" and 216. In February I started a modyfied Atkins diet. My weight was 235lbs.

If i get get down to 195 I'd feel like a new person.

Here's the only time in my life I wasn't chubby....it's the result of 5 mile run/sprint per day, mixed with several hundred push-ups and sit-ups.

I was 19 years old....weighed 172. Could do 65 push-ups in 2 minutes, 85 sit-ups...and run one mile in less than 5 minutes...two in 12 mins.

(sigh)...what a difference 12 years makes, eh? lol

Hmmm, I'm 6'5" and last time I weighed myself I was 230. I can tell I'm lighter now, but I don't own a scale. A couple years ago I was the same height and 145. I went to an uncles funeral and they said I looked like death. So I tried to gain weight. heh.

It's a simple concept folks, eat less calories than you burn in a day, and you'll lose weight. What's complex is our wills to implement it :-/

My co-worker lost 60 pounds over the course of year with moderate excercise (walking then built up to jogging/running) and still ate a balanced diet. He more or less dropped his caloric intake, and increased his activity level.

I, on the other hand, lost 60 pounds in 30 or so days last year. I can't, however, recommend the cancer diet to the average person.
