I disagree whole-heartedly! Some of us are into tattoos... The premise behind a tattoo is to openly express something you care about. The rotor is a fantastic symbol for the abilities of human intellect! Speed, if you want a rotor tattoo, go for it... There are plenty of lame people out there, who pick something off of a wall or out of a book. I award you points for originality, and bonus points for"Representin.'"

thanks man, everyone has their opinion.. I find it original, just like some people going turbo find it lame compared to the people that want to supercharge.. to each his own, plus I always wanted one and never really knew what to get and this to me sounds right. Not many ppl out there that have one so hard to find and compare too

I have seen a couple members here with a tattoo of a rotor. I personally would not get a rotor tattooed on me but thats just my opinion. And I do have some tattoos. The next one I am planning is an upper sleeve of my grandmothers family crest.
I have a tattoo and a rotor tattoo is not original, this topic has been done. Hell we have a local member who got one after owning his 8 for a very short period of time, I told him it was lame too.
If I got it done as an upper sleeve it may take 2 visits (3-4 hours a trip) Yes it has meaning, my grandmother came from England when she was in her 20's. She met my grandfather, he was stationed in England during WWII. They fell in love and she came back to the states with him. The rest is history. She died sometime ago but will forever live in my heart. As most grand parents she was my biggest fan. Anyways this his her family crest.
^ Cool. My family is Irish on both sides, I am into crests as well. My tattoo is Irish related but if I had to do it all over I probably would stay tat free.
I just think car related tats are dumb in general. There is a dipshit around here with a Honda tattoo on his neck. Don't get me wrong, I loved my Honda's but a tattoo?
What if in 10 years you don't own a rotary or one is not even produced anymore? But hey if a rotary tattoo is all you can think of and you are cool with it then knock yourself out.

I guess you are right, how about I get a tattoo of a swiggly band around my arm... or a cross on my shoulder, now Im sure thats original, plus I do not recall me asking this question before so i doubt this topic was covered, unless you mean covered for someone else, so I do not see how that would help me at all since I'm the one getting the tattoo and really do not want to get the same picture as some one else.. plus my question is probably not the same as the other people who posted.

ha ha he got you on that one 9k. there are a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOT more stupid tattoos out there than a rotary tattoo. just b/c you don't like it, doesn't make it dumb. plus, the rotor looks cool, i mean, a tattoo of a v8 wouldn't look cool.
i will say, op, to think it through. not sure how long you've had the car (honeymoon phase?) or if you're a long time rotor-head, but just think it through. i have tattoos i'd re-get in a heartbeat, and one or two i'd like to have back...or at least will probably cover with something else.
but yeah...not the first time it's been discussed...

I hear where your coming from 9K but I still love my tattoos because they mean something to me like the one of my sons name done in tribal around my arm. I do make sure they can all be concealed because I am in a management position and deal with many professionals who may stereotype people with tattoos.

I have no problems with tatoos, I actually love them. They should have meaning. But they can be a very bad idea as well. If you are going to do it, keep it simple.
Either way, when you do it, post up so we can compliment you on it.
yeah, my mom thinks criminals have tattoos lol.. I like the rotor eating the piston No I've loved the rotary since i was 16 ( 26 now ) worked for mazda selling them and waited till the day I got my own rotary.. and I plan on keeping this car forever, lol like some old guys in their 60 kept the chevelles and barracudas.. and one day i'll get the new one from mazda.. so i feel its something I really want..so thanks for all the pics 9k always a blast arguing with you

I agree with both of you lol (you know who I mean)
A tattoo is a representation of something meaninful to you. Being in the military, don't you always find it awesome when another newb shows up with the "Military for life" type tattoos, yet, they haven't really "earned" a place yet?
So, if it's something you feel strongly about, and you plan on being a "Rotorhead", then by all means I think this is a cool idea!!
Just, make sure it's something that you can be proud of, and if someone asks you about it, you can (if you feel) give them an informative answer on the rotary engine and it's uniqueness. Unlike asking a newb in the mil about the regiment they serve and they say, "Uhh, they fought in WWII?"
Good luck
PS This tattoo is one that I've considers, also...
I'm AD Navy, and we're always busting up on some nub (we call them nubs) for getting an anchor tattoo a week out of boot camp. Lets see if its a good idea after a couple of deployments...
Having said that, I'm in the same boat as Speed. This 8 is my 4th rotary powered car, and I have the same 10th Ann FC I've been driving since High School back home in Ohio, waiting for me to come home and rebuild her. If you've been in to something for a decade, you can wear it proudly. I understand (and share) your passion.
Some of those tattoos arent bad, others you couldnt pay me to put on my body. I like the top one, but shading doesnt always hold up too well with tattoos, so I suggest you keep it simple and, more importantly, elegant.
