Question for you doctors
I was watching seinfeld and elaine kept getting things written in here folder and eventually they would take her anywhere cuz of what it said in her manela folder. What stuff do u guys really write in there?

Your history of present illness, past medical history, social history, family history, medications, allergies, and physical exam.

Basically everything we can find out about you.
Of course it is protected from discovery without your permission.

I have question! Since we have a thread on this topic and Speed-ER doc is in, I would ask you instead. I have always wanted to ask my family doctor but always felt dumb if I did. :o Whenever the doctor writes out a prescription, they always have a funky way of writing it. Is it a different style altogether? Or is just because I am dumb and can't read?

It's Latin-based, mostly. The trend is to get away from this shorthand and write plainly to avoid confusion.

For example, 1 po bid = one per orum bis en die (one by mouth twice daily) or 1 gtt OD tid = one drop oculus dexter ter in die (one drop right eye three times daily).

Speaking of "Pads".....

I'm going to be switching mine soon because of the dust and squeel....
Have any of you 8'rs tried the low dust type?
Did they quiet down any?
