courts no longer force people to AA meetings following DUI offenses. this is because those of AA lobbied the courts complaining that it damages the image and the purpose of AA. people there believe they need those meetings to keep a sober life and not being able to afford picking up that first drink because of what they will lose. while court ordered AA people are there for a signature and contribute nothing, and do not know the meaning of the 12 traditions or steps and stand for all that is wrong with the idea of attending those meetings of anonymity.
