Good and messed up, or just messed up? My vote for just plain old messed up include:

- Naked Lunch
- Twin Peaks - Fire Walk With Me (Yes, it's a movie)

And I haven't seen Eraserhead but I hear it's one of the most messed up movies ever made.

Fudoh.

It's from Japan. They call it "Tokyo Shock." Watching it gives me physical pain.

Irreversible, french movie with Monica Bellucci. There's an 8 minute rape scene and they showed the raped girl's friend bashing the rapist's head with a fire extinguisher. Aargh!

Try Donnie Darko.....its a little crazy.

My favorite quote form the movie is "'Why do you wear that bunny suit?' Freddy replies, 'Why do you wear that man suit?'"

Its a great film

Fire Walk with me is one of my all time favs- was a lot better if you were already familiar with the series, and eraserhead is VERY messed up

"Jacob's Ladder (1990)

I still have not decided if I have that one figured out- I think about it all the time though how nice it would be to be a mailman and just not have to think anymore

Have you been to the site- ONE OF THE BEST SITES EVER! if you ask me- very exploritive made by the same crew (Hi Res) that made another great site for requiem!

If you go and enter info- donnie will write you for awhile-also have you seen "Nowhere" It is made by the same people- very messed up as well but you can tell it was an earlier project by them- and for all you butthole surfers fans gibby is in Nowhere as Juji fruit

Neon Genisis Evangellion - End of Evangellion - Anime

Being a fan of the series I really don't know how I feel about the film. It was quite screwed up though (more so than the series and the series was a total Mind F).

Anyone ever see the Grifters? That's pretty much the most fugged up movie I can think of a title for. There are others higher on the list, but since my memory sucks worse than a 10 year old Dust Buster, the Grifters it is.

Agreed. I can't even remember how many times I've watched it. Creative or demented people love it. Anybody else doesn't get it. Before watching it you need to clear and open your mind.

Donna: "If I had a nickel for every cigarette your mom smoked, I'd be dead."

The Log Lady: "When this kind of fire starts, it is very hard to put out. The tender boughs of innocence burn first, and the wind rises, and then all goodness is in jeopardy"

Cooper: "DAMN good coffee, and HOT!"

Donnie Darko is a good one. But I believe Nowhere is a Greg Akari movie.
However another Greg Akari movie gets my vote:
The Doom Generation, with Rose McGowan and James Duvall, it even contains a cameo from Perry Ferrall.
Every store they go into, no matter what they buy, the total is $6.66
Great weird movie.

Anything by Peter Greenaway - especially The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover. So nauseating almost everyone left the theater.

Naked Lunch was pretty odd too, expecially as I hate big insects.

actually that movie was pertty disturbing in terms of the rape scene and the voilent murder, but I wouldn't call it screwed up...
It was actually pretty straight forward. The interesting part was the camera work and the non-linear story telling. But it wasn't "screwed up" in the "weird" sense of the phrase..

There really wasn't much to the story--guy's gal gets raped and brutally beaten (openly depicted), and very soon after, he finds the guy to kill him.

BTW, you're wrong about him killing the rapist.. If you watch it again, you'll realize he killed the wrong guy, since he doesn't know what the rapist looks like.. After the guys head was bashed in, the camera pans over to the rapist who stands there shock, but with a slight amused expression on his face.

I would say the most F*CKED up movie which I couldn't make sense of is EL TOPO. It had everything.. it was a surreal masterpiece set in a spaghetti western style movie. lots of voilence, tons of screwed up characters, but also lots to wonder and discuss what things meant.. highly recommended for arthouse fans...

Oh how could I have forgotten that?! Definitely a mess-up movie!
I thought Schindler's List was raw and twisted because it was so close to reality... and that was just a messed-up time!

Oooooh. Trainspotting, another great movie. It's pretty normal though minus the baby scene. How about Spud having a tug-o-war with the bedsheets and poop pudding flies everywhere...

How can I be the first one to mention A Clockwork Orange !? Hell, the movie introduces its own special words in the movie....

Anyone ever see Legend of the Overfiend? Any anime movie that shows a 30 story tall monster shooting "frickin laser beams" out of its multiple penises......
