You have to continue playing the game, the same way you unlocked some cars, the 8 will eventually be unlocked. It is a GREAT car, even in the game, just sucked to have to add so much stuff to the body in order to get the 10 star rating.
Just completed the game for the second time using the 8. (my first car has been the miata both times)
After you get the 10star car you can strip it down and continue play... I actually like it best stock. And it sounds awesome...(when you plug it in to your surroundsystem and crank up the volume...) =)
