If you were waiting for Fedora Linux version 11, it was release today at 10:00 am EST.
I have it on my laptop now, it boots FAST.
Remember to install the goodies from FreshRPMs.net to allow the licensed or copyrighted (Arrr) stuff for multi-media.
(Fedora only allows free stuff in the official Free DVD OS install image.)
Have they gotten into the world of graphics yet or they still sitting in command prompts? (aka Ubuntu doesn't require Gnome and crap just to be visually stimulating.)

you'll want to do a fresh install and not a yum upgrade from fc10.
white_shadows, pretty much any linux distro these days has graphical effects superior to anything you'll get on windows. So if that is your measurement of what makes an OS, then yes. I disable the extras after a few minutes of playing because they don't add anything, and just waste time (as the window wobbles after moving, for example).
I run fc10 on my laptop. ubuntu on my desktop at work. most of my x86 systems in the office are centos.

Linux hasn't been CLI since the 1st version, while you can still use a cli, the Gnome 2.26 desktop is rather nice. You can always choose to use the KDE 4.2 desktop if you like extreme eye candy.
I like Fedora because the Fedora "Core" version 1 was really Redhat 10; with 10 plus releases to evolve from Redhat 9, Fedora rocks.
/It sucks without the multimedia extras from the eye-patch crew....
Mplayer
Video Lan Client
DVD-Rip

I was refering to ease of install. Ubuntu straight from a boot (no install) is visual.
Versus Gentoo I spent days getting the coding right and then days just trying to get from a command prompt to gnome and then days just tryin to get the graphics card setup correctly.
I like linux because there is no cost and alot of fun tools and visuals, but I can't hate windows because easy install and everything works with it. I by no means am a programmer and I don't want to learn to be one I'd rather associate visual buttons to previous knowledge. I am used to redhat being command prompts I didn't know Fedora has always been visual from the load.
All this aside i'm leaning on Mac right now (iPhone user and graphical design at work.) So knowing linux (well unix) won't hurt.
Was just a question, not trying to say I'm some super haxxor l33t. Just your average, good with computers guy.

Never mind. I booted the short version of it. Just fell in love with it all over again. (first time my scroll buttons on this laptop have ever I mean ever worked) Drivers seem sooooooo much cleaner (minus wifi i'll figure that out I'm sure) So I lied I love it. Windows went by by and (unless you figure wine as windows) fedora is a yay. Full DVD Media install tomorrow when I find some blank dvd's.
