So my current Logitech optical wheel mouse is starting the break. The left click needs to be slammed in order for it to click right. I like the optical with a cord only because my previous wire-less mouse lost connection too often. What do you guys suggest as far as the best mouse overall?
If there is a wire-less mouse out there that works wonders, please let me know. Any mouse you think is best let me know.
Thanks!

i have the microsoft wireless desktop with bluetooth. wireless range up to 30 feet on both keyboard and mouse. comes with bluetooth dongle, and can connect to other bluetooth devices as well. 2 extra buttons on side of mouse, preprogrammed for forward and back in your browser, but can be programmed for other functions. love it.
Logitech MX518 is what I'm using and it's pretty badass. The switches on my old mouse where going bad on it and sometimes it would double or tripple click stuff.
I have a MX518, and it's pretty kick ***, although I think you might be paying for some features on it that you wouldn't use. I tend to not like wireless mice and keyboards especially as much, but if you're only doing web surfing just get a cheap mouse that has a side button for going backwards in your browser and a scroll wheel, because those are used a lot.
Was your old wireless setup bluetooth? I have a logitech bluetooth mouse and keyboard combo, it works really well. I have never lost a connection that I can remember either. The mouse will last a good 6 hours or so, certainly more than most people would want to sit uninterrupted at a time. And when the red light on the mouse flashes, you just charge it for like 5-10 minutes and it's good for a couple of hours.
Thanks guys! I think I am going to go with this one:
That's "like" the one I have, and yes...Laser is good! Your version looks geared for gamers and I think it's the most recent of their Laser type mouse.
My wireless MX100 Laser mouse last about a 1-3 weeks without needed to recharge, but I wish it had a longer range (12-15 feet instead of 7-8 feet). Keep in mind that I use mine with a HTPC so for normal use 7-8 feet is just fine.
I plan on getting a Logitech G5 in a few months too. I like the adjustable weights. Wireless mice don't appeal to me anyway. This is supposed to be a competitor against the new Razer Copperhead. I don't really like the button click on the Razer mice, so I'll just stick with the G5.
I have a wacom tablet that offers the same thing, basically it's like a magnet in a mouse on a wired tablet right?
I guess so. The tablet is conected via USB, but I don't really know how it works. The mouse does not have to be touching the tablet for it to work, but lifting it more than 3 inches will not be enough to power it. I used to have the bottom line Logitech mouse and keyboard. The mouse used to eat the batteries like it was going out of fasion and lose connectivity often. I've gotten rid of the two problems with the one I have now.

The mouse uses induction to power it. Electricity is passed through the USB port to the pad where the mouse rests. The mouse receives power via an RFID antenna. If you move the mouse more than two or three inches from the pad it will stop working. Also you cannot use it on any metal surface.
You might want to try a trackball like Kensington's "Expert Mouse". Since it doesn't need to roam around your desk, the cable isn't as much of an issue.
But they have a wireless one too.
I'm a fan of trackballs, especially for office work. Though for some types of gaming a mouse is much better...
I used to play CS on a trackball. Got damn good with it too. But, after using a mouse, I can see why that's better. I was good with precision with a trackball, but I couldn't make broad movements. With the mouse, I can do both.
