figured 40 bucks out of each check and have it by summer.. snow on the ground here now anyhow... that drift video was sweet.. thing does a top speed of 75mph for a damn remote control car.. had a nitro buggy for dunes at lake michigan.. but top speed was like 40mph.. this thing is gonna be a damn fun toy :P
I agree, remote control is fun on a bun. I've flow RC planes for the last 25 years and it's still a blast.
moms coworker owns about 40 acres and turned it into a miniplane field. 3x a year they have a big party with a bonfire and ****. but the cool part is all her husbands buddies come out with their gaspowered planes... sit and just watch them fly those things for hours and fade back some cold brews... badass.
When I lived in So Cal we always flew at a place called Mile Square park, it was an aux airfield during WWII and had a huge triangled shaped runway in the middle. I think I spent every weekend from 11 to 17 out there.. then less frequently once I found what happens when girls like you back.
I think the most expensive plane I ever crashed was a 4 engined 1/6 scale model of a B17, starboard wing came off durning a low flyby. Figure about 6k.
R/C drifting is pretty fun. Have you tried it before? If you don't mind spending a little bit more, you can order HPI's Drift Assist gyro to make perfect drifts every time. I tried it for one summer with a couple of friends on my TC3. It's a lot harder to do it by eye than it appears to be. Throttle/steering input is very important, as giving a little too much of either inputs can cause you to ruin the drifting line. Haven't tried it before with a nitro car before. Hope you have lots of fun! I think I might get myself one as well haha.
