Hey guys,
I just bought my very first Mazda RX-8 GT. I test drove the manual, and it was love ever after 6000 RPM. Its used and I still have about a year and half warranty on it.
Is there anything I need to look out for. Its a 2005 with 55KMs. Any thoughts, recommandations and tips. Any lil tip counts.
Thanks guys. This forum really looks great.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Use 90+ gas, 8's have expensive tastes! Change the oil lots, drive the heck out of it - 8s hate to be ignored - and always let it idle a while once you turn it on - if you turn it off cold it will flood and you will have the joy of smoking it!
Other than that, the CD player sometimes gets tempermental, be gentle with the **** on the heater/airconditioner, and get yourself some good music because you can actually hear it...
And prepare yourself for compliments and questions!
And as far as transformers go it is probably closer to Sound Wave than it is to Jazz!
Thank you both for your feedback.
I have to say that, I am incredibly happy after the purchase. You get more then just a car, “It is a passion” and the unbelieveable added bonus RX-8 Club Community. It being my first care, I am very cautious and prudent before doing anything (such as properly turning it on and off.)
I live in Toronto, Canada and temperatures have just today reached -15 temperature. I read a few posts on issues starting the car at such low temperatures.
I would really appreciate a sort of mentor or someone willing to be a referance point. Everyone is new at one time or another, having someone that knows really goes an unbelievable distance. This community has truely impressed me, and I truely hope to get to know all of you!
(lol...Started looking at Gas stations and the type of fuel they offer. First Pump ESSO at 91 Octane - she drinks well! and its all in the name of the game.)
Probably willing be sticking to 91 Octane indefinately.
I just wanted to mention that I was in the market to buy my first car for quite sometime. Time wasn't a pressing issue as I was still driving my dads car. With that being said, I test drove a number of cars that interested me (330i, a4...).
And then one day after test driving a VW Golf (2011 2DR Hatchback) I walked over to another dealership (Infiniti) with the intended purpose of taking a 2008 G37 for a test drive. Walking with the lot with sales person he pointed to the G37 and not to far in the distance to another White Aggressive Looking Car. I was fasinated and I completely forgot about the G37... I started asking questions about this fantasitic looking car...
A Manual 2005 RX-8 GT...
Once I drove the RX-8 it was love ever after 6000RPM(and that was just the beginning!)... I truely didnt know what to expect and it really impressed the hack out of me. (And man does she come alive after 5000RPM!!!)
To sum up the car and right person behind the wheel, I would say that "It's a Passion...And for someone with a passion for driving". How you take the rest, is completely up to you and your perception.
