Most salient feature of an RX-8 is its gas filler door
I go to get gas today and as I step out of the car, some grizzled man says to me, "heeeey! that's a nice caaaaar, it's got that gaaaas cap that automatically pops open. I gots to get out and open mine. S'pose nobody can steal your gas that way. Pretty neat!" I was stunned and could only say, "well, the fuel door opens from inside, yeah, uh, but I still have to unscrew the cap, so, hehe, uh... it's not all that different, I guess, hehe." Why would someone be fixated on the car's fuel door?? I can't think of a car made now that doesn't have a fuel door that has to be opened from the inside. WEIRD.
Has anyone gotten positive comments on their third brake light or anything? I can imagine: "You mean you got THREE brake lights with that little one in the middle?? S'pose it's easier to tell when you're stoppin', pretty neat!"

Minneapolis, MN, Florence of the Midwest, haha. I have a feeling he was struck by the car in general and for some reason the fuel door caught his attention so he felt compelled to comment on that. I dunno. Sort of how some people get when they try to talk to a hot girl, I suppose? "Abububada, uh, I, uh, like your trapper-keeper.." :o

I get them all the time and there are hundreds of other people I know worldwide who also get them. :D

hahah i had some guy stop behind my car in a parking lot...asked me if the tag i had was from florida...it's one of the newer ones..but it clearly states "florida" lol then he started asking questions abt the car.... lol
