i just got this really really strange phone call, and i'm pretty sure it's a scam. this guy named joe something with a weird accent from something called the government grant agency called and wanted our bank account #, claiming we're one of 5~10 americans a year to get the 25k grant from the government to do whatever we want w/. i was like wtf and he wasn't very good either. i asked him if it was a company, and he said "we're an agency, there's a difference b/t company and agency right?" said they were a government agency. i then asked him what part of the government he's under, he said something ridiculous like government grant something that was obviously made up, and i was like WTF and then i asked him what part of the government that was under, and then he was like "we're under the better business bureau." it was SOOOOOOO weird, and i was getting really really pissed off. i was like if i had to get in touch w/ you who would i call, and he's like call the agency. it was so full of bs. is this some kind of a joke? he really pissed me off. so then i just hung up. and then the phone rang again, and there was no answer, so i hung up again. what in the world??? this was a scam right?

Dude, you screwed up. I've been pretty happy with my 25 K.
Sounds more like a morning radio show than a scam.
edit: on second thought, they did ask for your account number, so definitely a scam. Never give your numbers to anyone who calls you.

the better business bureau does that every year at random to provide little sparks to the economy in certain areas. The odds of getting it are less than winning the lottery. You're probably one of the only americans ever to turn it down.
I'm sure it was a scam. It really predicts the future. I've been receiving Nigerian scam emails for a while. And now recently botwsanian emials. As voice over IP increases and gets cheaper and cheaper, expect to receive more and more scam phone calls from foreign countries. Hell half the call centers are now based in india. Big problems with culture shock, imagine working a 12 hour shift 6 days a week just to afford a lean too in india (and not even dreaming of ever eating any kind of meat) and trying to conversre with a middle income family in a big city US burg. I gladly admit I am very very glad that I was a natural born citizen to two other natural citizens.
