have all of you rotary fans heard about the moller skycar. this guy has been trying for years to build kinda hovercraft/ v-tol plane that the average person could fly/drive on a daily basis. to the power to weight ratio where he needs it to get the thing of the ground and for reliability he has chosen to power it with rotaty engines. the styling is not too shabby either. anyway here is the link to the website. just scroll down to where they talk about the engines.www.moller.com/skycar/technology

yeah, and he's been working on it for like 20 yrs, he's either damn persistent or crazy. i'd kinda like to see the thing fly though. after all, aren't we all supposed to have hover-cars and jet-packs here in the twenty-first century.
Hey, we can laugh at him now, but what if that ever works
As I recall, the aircraft uses four rotary engines. If any one of those engines were to fail while the aircraft was below 500 feet & 30 mph, there would be a fatal crash; same is true for conventional helicopters but in this case, there are four times as many opportunities.
