IMHO, it doesn't really need a 6-speed. 6-speeds are fine on high-winding cars where most of the poop is on the upper rev range, like the S2k, for example. On a torquey V-6, one more gear could just add to the confusion. The Audi A4 3.0 V6 has a 6-speed, and most testers have questioned the need for it. Not that I'd complain if it had a 6th oar, but I don't think it is necessary.
