Last Saturday was the Late Model Championships. I took a video of the Flagman (looking up at an angle). He has a row of flags he uses to officiate the race.
The air is crystal clear and completely calm. As the deafening ROAR of the late models BLAST BY him, hurricane force winds nearly blow him off the stand and a massive dust clouds screams past. It is absolutely awesome watching these BEASTs roar around the track. 3/8 mile clay track....27 cars.....speeds up to 100 mph......IT'S INSANE!!
Many of the drivers are friends...I know most of the crews and a lot of the fans. It is an amazing time. GREAT PEOPLE....AWESOME RACING...
When the TOP TWO contenders of the Series run NECK-TO-NECK for 48 laps, then one of them fakes up, then dips down past him to win the 50 lap championship.....it is awesome.....
Nice pics. Looks like alot of fun. That last pic with the camaro drifting and the driver waving is pretty funny.
When some of the drivers bring new cars out, I'll photochop a variety of numbers and colors on a picture of their car so they can decide which side-markings they like the best.
