From a male's perspective?

Does hair color make a difference? Just curious...

It is a factor, yes. I don't have a preference to a color per se, except to the extent it is a natural color. It's a part of the overall package in that regard.

There was an article a few months back that had a women who put up a personal ad online with straight and curly hair. The author reported a significant difference in hits for the personals based on just that, nevermind completely different hair color. She also went out on a few dates and switched from curly to straight and vice versa to see what effect it had on the guy expecting the opposite.

http://www.divinecaroline.com/articl...ight--which-do

In a way I suppose it does matter, but ultimately it's all superficial.

Interesting read. I found it particularly interesting, because as a female, it really doesn't matter to me what color a guy's hair is or whether or not it's curly or straight. Totally depends on the guy.

personally i prefer hardwood floor

but really, it does make a difference; i find myself attracted to brunettes more than blondes in general.

I've always had a tendency to favor brunettes, I don't know why in particular. Freud might have something to say about it. But I have noticed that some men prefer Blonds, some redheads, some brunettes.

This is from SKYNEWS.com
Gentlemen apparently no longer prefer blondes.
Instead, they would rather choose the brains and sophistication more often associated with brunettes.
Blondes like Marilyn Monroe 'seen as needy'
That is according to a study into hair color and the intensity of attraction, which showed 51% of men thought brunettes were more attractive.

Researchers at City University showed 1,500 men three pictures of the same model digitally enhanced as a blonde, a brunette and a redhead.

They were then asked to give their impressions of the model's personality based on her hair color.

Brunettes were described as intelligent by 81%, while 67% described them as independent and self-sufficient.

Two-thirds of the men (62%) said the brunette women appeared stable and competent.
The blonde model was described as needy and lacking in independence by four out of ten.

Redheads were thought to be intelligent by 79% of the men, although 45% described them as neurotic.

City University Professor of Psychology Peter Ayton led the research commissioned by hair products company Sunsilk.

He said blonde hair had historically been seen as a symbol of youth which was attractive to men, but added: "As the role of women has evolved, men's expectations of women have changed.

"They're looking for more intense, equal partnerships and appearance has a large role to play."

I prefer natural, because if they stay natural they don't want to always go and spend money and get their hair re-colored.

That and it looks trashy when the roots show.

My gf had red (dyed) stripes in her hair. She's a brunette and it looked horrible in my opinion. So she change the red stripes to dark blondish streaks, better but I later made her get rid of dye all together. Natural for the win!

Hair color isn't much of an issue for me. I've historically dated brunettes but that's not because I wouldn't have dated anyone else. It just worked out that way. Keep in mind I am not talking about crazy colors such as purple or blue. That's just weird and I won't go there. I do find the current skunk look pretty amusing. Too many girls today have the bleach blond stripes through their dark hair whether it be natural or otherwise. Highlights aren't bad. Skunky looking is. I also don't like really fake bleach blond. That too drives me nuts. It's got to look natural or at least relatively natural. In the future women are going to look back to pictures of now and laugh wondering what the hell they were thinking with the weird bleach/highlight jobs. It's a fad. Hopefully the fake look will go away soon.

When it comes to hair style I do have an opinion. I hate short hair! I love long thick hair. I know short is a subjective term that will vary with individual interpretation. I consider short anything that is above the shoulders. Admittedly some women look better with short hair than others. I just don't like it. I have never dated someone with short hair although I've been on individual dates with them. I just can't get past that when the hair is short. Short hair and cigarette are things I can't get past. I don't care how cute or cool she is. A cigarette will kill the deal EVERY time! Long hair any natural color or with some highlights is what I prefer.

I tend to gravitate toward those with blonde hair, but it must be natural. It really doesn't matter to me as long as it is just that.......natural.
Long dark hair does it for me as well..............aw hell.........I just like women!!!!

I'm not sure the exact way to describe it, but gals with straight, kinda layered hair are awsome. I don't care what color at that point, that's almost enough to make her an instant cutie.

I prefer blonde.

I try to stay away from natural red heads. I think the reason people gravitate to natural red heads is because they are unique, but a couple of my siblings have red hair.

I think blonde is the easiest thing to pull off well for a female. Also since I'm from Houston most girls are brunettes.

I usually like brunettes, I've been engaged twice (past and current) are blonds. I haven't dated a redhead when I come to think about it, but I have found some to be very attractive and others look like they have downs.

Blonds, Brunettes, Blue, Red, Green, Pink. It's all good to me
I do like long hair more than short, especially since short hair looks terrible more times than not.

My fiance's hair is now shoulder length which is the shortest that I like.
