Thumbs up Lewis Booth, Quote from speach on Sept 9th

"Early next year, we will launch our brand icon model. The rotary-powered RX-8 will be a sports car like no other. It will combine superb performance with practicality never before seen in a sports car."

while searching for anything on the lewis booth speech i found this on autoweeks website. take it for what you will. i'll keep searching for the speech.

"RX-8: Rotary engine enthusiasts finally get their rwd supercar, previewed for years, as an early 2004 model. Despite rumors of weight problems caused by reinforcing the doorsills to make up for the lack of a B-pillar, Mazda engineers insist the vehicle will be on time and very fast. A convertible may arrive in spring 2004. "

2004 is the expected release for the convertible. I have a feeling we will be getting more information in the near future. It's like waiting for a Christmas present!

The hardtop RX-8 will be here in 2003, as a year 2004 model.

Someone in this thread asked for the complete speach from Lewis Booth. The reason I didn't was because:
the rest of it had to do totally with Japan/US relations and,
it was a very large speach.

Wish I could help. I read this in printed form so I don't have a web site for you. Sorry.
