had some surgery done on my eye today. when i take the patch off tomorrow i'll show some close up shots of the sutures in the eye lid. then we can have a vote on who has the cooler stitches bunny or I.

How long has it been since you took the Darvocet? If over half the time has elapsed between prescribed doses, try a couple of Aleve on top of it. Usually it will help to give it a kick and you can get some sleep as well.

For pain I like emprin (sp?) with codine -
or morphine - morphine doesn't really kill the pain, it just makes you not care!
For eye pain, I would really give the patient something to help them sleep and enourage them to zombie out for about 3 days - that reduces eye movement and by the fourth day the worst of the pain and swelling should be over...

the patch will come off tomorrow. then cold compress for 10 minutes every hour. i had the option of not getting the patch and starting the cold compress routine today but the doctor said there would be less brusing and swelling if i wore a patch the first day.
