hot off the press! NEW NEWS about the RX-8!

Here's some NEW NEWS! While rather incidental, it will answer some of the questions we've been asking and you won't have to wait until the Detroit Show to find out.

Tires:
No run-flats...

Antenna:
The antenna is embedded. Therefore the drag coefficient will not be raised and the car won't look DORKY with one of those chrome sticks protruding out of a fender somewhere...

Rear Sets:
The much beloved built in Child Seat will not make it into production... and,
there won't be fold-down rear seats... , but
there will be a PASS-THROUGH from the trunk... Oh Yea!!!:D :D

That's all for now folks.:p

I think you LIKE torturing us, don't you Boowana?

Thanks for the info though- too bad about the child seat and the back seats not folding down though. But thank god for the antenna!

You can't get satelite radio on a BMW yet. It's just there for looks.

Ok maybe radio and GPS, but I have both and no fin on my car.

so is the trunk pass through gonna be like the center channel in the back? That would be logical, my accord has that and it works for me.

Tires that can run without air for a limited distance in an emergency. Max distance is usually 50 miles @ 50 MPH max speed.

No, they have nothing but air inside. They have extremely stiff, heat resistant sidewalls that can support the weight of the car (but not indefinately) with zero air pressure inside the tire.
