Okay, so i was coming back to school from my friend's house with couple of my friends. We don't have 5th period, but have 6th period sports. Since we play football and all, we get to have weight class, but since we're seniors and all, we just come 2 or 3 times a week for little work out. So we like hang out at friend's house or just chill from lunch to 5th period. Anyways, as we were driving up at the school parking lot, we witnessed an accident up ahead. Appearantly, Daniel(another senior i know) was backing out, and he collided with this black Honda. We were all like Damn~ I also had couple of friends with their cars behind me. From what i saw, it was totally Daniel's fault, as he was backing out and hit the guy with Black Civic. So we drove up, and i dropped some people off and parked my car. As soon as i got out, the damn civic already made a U-turn around the parking lot and was flying by me like a maniac!! WTF?? Daniel (he has some temper) was so pissed that he started to cuss out loud. Not that Asian gangster with Black Civic would stop and come back. He was going at about 45 mph in school parking lot! and zigzagging through oncoming traffics!! Like Aaron and i thought the same thing. We quickly got into our cars. He has 95' FD 300hp under his hood. And i got into my Rx8, and we started to chase this Ahole down. By the time we were on Huntington(biggest street that runs right through the middle of our town San Marino), he was racing down the street. Since it was almost 3 oclock, the traffics were getting heavy. Of course with nice FD, Aaron went ahead of me and was able to catch up with him. I was hitting about 60 miles and finally caught up his behind. Aaron was yelling at him to pull over, but he wasn't going to give up. I got the license plate down of that A$3Hole. We decided to let him go, after i let Aaron know i got his number. We came back to school, and Daniel was still there pissed as hell. We gave him the number and told him good luck.
From what i saw it was Daniel's fault, and i don't get why that idiot ran off like that?? i mean if the car backing out of parking lot hit the person behind, it's his fault right? but then the second black civic ran away, it becomes entirely his fault. That's what i believe am i correct??
why the hell would he run away like that??
Oh by the way, the odd thing was that position of Daniel's car. After the accident, Daniel's car was 80% out of the lot, but it was curved out in enough angle that gives PLENTLY of space for oncoming car go drive around or PLENTLY space to avoid collision. I mean from what i saw far away from the scene, Daniel his the car as he was backing up, but when i got there and saw the position, the car wasn't even taking up half of the street. Black civic had PLENTLY of room to go around or avoid collision!!.....weird....

The Civic may have contained something that the Police would have had questions about. In any case, I can't figure out why you're all pissed off and getting into high-speed chases. The Civic driver saved Daniel's insurance rate from skyrocketing, if anything.
Ugh, I couldn't even read that; don't they teach paragraphs in highschool these days? Anyways sounds like Daniel is a *** and many at your school have more money than brains, or rather, the parents have more money than brains.

Rich Asian families move to San Marino (Pasadena, Arcadia, and CalTech adjacent) for the school district. A three bedroom, two bath 50 year old tract house will set you back at least $750K there.

From his thread, they teach the three "R's." R-working out. R-Hanging out at friends house. dRiving Really fast.

If the kid went to school with you why not wait till the next day and grab the plate number? Why not see if the school has a camera on the parking lot? Why chase down a guy who you ran into and are at fault for? (not that wanting to take responsibility is a bad thing). But for the love of god slow the heck down a dented bumper isn't worth a high speed chase and possibly dying over. I am sure you and your friend are good guys but this time you truly acted like a bunch of childish morons. Just glad everyone's ok.
Sounds like they fell victim to watching too many cheesy car movies where the smart/cool thing to do is chase each other through town. If this Civic driver did take off after your buddy Daniel backed into him, he probably did have a load of something he didnt want the police seeing. Chasing him down was assinine.
BlueEyes you're wrong
our school is a number 1 public high school in SoCal
The guy obviously wasn't going to our school. I'm sorry with our teenager brains
We didn't have enough sense for searching for camera in some high school parking lot.
some ******* love i always feel from this club
I'm still at a loss as to why your friend got pissed... If it was your friend's fault, like you insinuate, why would he go storming after him like a bat out of hell? I can understand if your friend was the hittee and the guy took off. As far as taking full blame by fleeing the scene, I'm not sure. I agree with what was said earlier, he probably had a little somethin-soemthin in his car and didn't need the police finding it.

No, the accident does not become someone’s fault because they left the scene. However, most states do require that people involved in accidents stop and check on the occupants of the other vehicle, and exchange information. Leaving the scene of an accident can carry some pretty heavy fines. Surprisingly, cops are usually not necessary, unless one of the parties wants them on the scene.
I want to know why the kid left. All he had to do is get out of the car, tell your friend he did not want the cops there, settle up the damages, and be on his merry way. Due to his irrational behavior he was probably high, or lacking insurance.
So did you call the cops? How does the story end?
Also leave the kid alone, it's not his fault that public schools suck.

Maybe it is because you post such immature info on the forum. If I would have seen you all 3 of you would have went to jail. So why post something so stupid. The language you choose to use shows the maturity level.

You are getting this 'love' because you did something that was very stupid. Although, I do admire your ability to take action quickly, it was not the right action. Obviously, you (and your friends) are well enough off that a dent in a bumper does not mean jack to you.
In all, there was no real justification in chasing down this idiot. If you were to get into an accident and he got away, imagine that police report. Surely, you would get enough charges against you to forget about the future for sometime.
As I said, your ambition to chase someone down after doing what you perceived as a wrong is refreshing. But, think first. You have a brain, please feel entitled to use it. Other than that, thank god no one got hurt and I hope that all works out well for the parties involved on your side of the incident.
No reason to chase this guy down. A simple call to the police with a good description of the car and what street they were on and what direction they were heading when you last saw them would have sufficed. Two wrongs never make a right.
