I've always preferred Heinz over other ketchups, and always a little miffed when I taste some off-brand no-name slime with fast food, or at the parents house.
So when 'significant other' brought home a bottle of new ketchup, I was prepared for the worst.....
Even though it said Heinz on the label, it also mentioned the organic word, which has neverever been a plus.
We proceeded to the blind taste test - two blobs and some fries to dip.....
So now I have a new favorite ketchup, Heinz Organic.
Won hands down.
Texture, color, taste and seasonings, all went to the new Organic.
I apologize for all the nasty things I've said about organic products, and I'll give 'em a fair try in future.
Just sayin'

ive always preferred heinz but after seeing a blind taste test on "america's test kitchen" decided to give hunts a try. its nearly as good and always at least $1 less than a comparable size bottle of heinz. so we'll be sticking with huntz for the foreseeable future.
French frys are the only thing, I can think of, that I use catchup on any more. It's totally unacceptable for anyone to put it on a hot dog or sausage sandwich.

I've found quite a few organic products to taste better. Some could just be in my mind, but others seemed obvious. The ketchup is one of the things that I completely agree with. One thing I've noticed is that corn syrup makes a huge difference. I had a kethcup that wasn't organic but didn't use corn syrup and it just seemed to be clearly better. The organic is definitely my favorite.
Absolutely agree about fries being the ONLY circumstance where 'chup is acceptable - just thought that was a given.
I have been regularly disappointed by organic alternatves, so was gobsmacked to find such a marked improvement. You may be right about the corn syrup - hadn't considered.
