Well, the FM2 demo is out, and I'm happy to say it finally feels like driving a real car! We should have a friendly competition on here posting which car we used and the lap times (the demo has no online component). Anyway, I'm off to go play. Let me know what you guys think.

It's good enough visually. Nothing you haven't seen before - I actually think the HD videos that Turn 10 has been releasing have looked better. Gameplay is great, sound is, aside from a few nitpicks, no doubt the best I've heard in a game to date, and the AI finally actually recognizes your presence. If you try to take the inside line on a corner, the AI will run just slightly wide to let you through, or will try and pinch you off. It's really cool to watch, I'm happy with it.

691 megs. I think I'm going to need a wheel - the gameplay in this game is unreal, it deserves nothing but the best. But as for the sound: OH MY GAWD! I just cranked up my TV and played with the sound setting to make them more realistic and this game REALLY sounds like you're at a race (a race with only 8 cars, mind you). That was only with regular, crappy TV speakers. All the cars sound different, and you can hear them far off down the track, it's really amazing. I MUST buy a surround sound/subwoofer setup!

I have my front channels setup right now in my bedroom on the 34" HD screen. The 52" should be here next week.. will probably be a month or 2 before i get my new 7.1 setup in my living room though.

I'm pretty sure this game NEEDS subwoofers. It sounds great with just normal speakers, but I hear they've put a lot of work into the low-end sounds that cars make. I found a system that's supposed to be awesome for $170, so I think I might pick it up.

holy BALLS i cant wait to go home for lunch and start the download. I'm excited. I remember reading an article that said it was going to be released in april well after april rolled away i would sign on every day to check. here it is 10 days later and FINALLY.
My first thought is that I wouldnt want the wheel. However I could drop 150 bucks if it made a TON of difference. the thing is I dont have a proper placae to set it up in the living room. It would be stupid to set it up on the coffee table and just be even more awkward with the pedals on the floor.
cant wait though!

I downloaded during lunch. Its a very nice demo, you get a rather large selection of cars to pick from from 3 different classes. And yes, the wheel does work in the demo
And fyi, the Mazdaspeed RX-8 is playable in the demo. In fact, it looks exactly like my car!!

I played the demo, tthe graphics are okay . i do find PGR3 to look better. the game play though is solid, worth the dl. but im thinking of skipping this game and get Dirt wh en it comes out for the 360.
sweet, i know you like it. my friend drops kicks me in the face. it hurt at the time, but a really awesome scene. ill email my Game Master at our Dungeon and Dragons club.
Too bad Forza's not the best game to show off on your HDTV.
Throw Gears in there or something to do the TV justice before playing the best game the 360 will likely ever see (well, unless Forza 3 comes out on the 360).

There will be other games on par or better than forza. I mean, what about Halo 3?
Gears map pack came out the other day too.. I should probably download that. Hell, I could enjoy the TV w/geometry wars!

Don't bother with the Gears pack right now. They struck a deal with Microsoft, so it's going to be free eventually. (The Gears guys wanted the maps to be free, MS wanted them to charge, they made a deal: charge initially, make it free later)

yah being a UT Fanboy for 7yrs now. epic never charged for maps, but ever since MS got a hold of them things changed. but yah im holding off till sept when the maps become free.
dl the demo now. I went and got the 120 gig HDD too, so it took an hour for it to transfer the content from one to the other. actually, and hour and 13 mins. took forever.
