Exodus.

According to websters it literally means the " road out". It also means a mass departure, or EMIGRATION.

Of course, it is also a book in the bible.

The fact that I had to think before I added the last part is telling, and perhaps sheds some light on why I feel the need to post this little bit of idiocy.

Change is the one sure thing in life. On one hand, change is a good thing...it avoids stagntion. But too much change is also a bad thing.

Choice is also a good thing..it gives us options. And avenues for change.

Now, let us look at cars for the moment. Why have lexus and acura been so well recieved? Because they took the best parts of mercades, audi and BMW and incorperated it into a superior product. Providing options to the consumer, at a time when theconsumer may have felt that they were being taken for granted.

That happens with many products. And servaces.

Just Kleggs deep thought for today.

[Late Latin, from Greek exodos : ex-, out; see exo– + hodos, way, journey.]

Sometimes I get the theme song from "Exodus" stuck in my head.

Don't think me unkind
Words are hard to find
The only cheques I've left unsigned
>From the banks of chaos in my mind
And when their eloquence escapes me
Their logic ties me up and rapes me

De do do do, de da da da
Is all I want to say to you
De do do do, de da da da
Their innocence will pull me through
De do do do, de da da da
Is all I want to say to you
De do do do, de da da da
They're meaningless and all that's true

Poets, priests and poiticians
Have words to thank for their positions
Words that scream for your submission
And no one's jamming their transmission
'Cos when their eloquence escapes you
Their logic ties you up and rapes you

De do do do, de da da da
Is all I want to say to you
De do do do, de da da da
Their innocence will pull me through
De do do do, de da da da
Is all I want to say to you
De do do do, de da da da
They're meaningless and all that's true

Lexus simply built a name for themselves with the LS400. Do you remember the ES250? It was a POS.

People wanted to buy a LEXUS and sometimes left the showroom with an ES250, but nobody ever wanted to buy an ES250.

It was just some expert marketing.

And the LS4 was simply an amazing car.

The commercial that comes to mind when I think about Lexus is the LS400 on a railroad track. The wheels are moving up and down over the rail ties, but the car stays level. I remember seeing that commercial in 1989 thinking that was pretty damn cool.

I'm out.

There are some really great members here, which made this site very enjoyable to visit. This isn't the only place where they hang out though.

I just got tired of the lack of consistency regarding the rules, the bizarre and inconsistent restrictions on allowable topics, and the frequent threats from the admins. I have been a vocal and financial supporter of this site through thick and thin, but it's time for a change.

Later.

This place is still plenty useful, particularly the tech forums which was the first reason I stumbled into the site. The Lounge was just gravy. The thing with the Lounge is more an issue of natural evolution I think, more than policy. I might feel differently if I'd been banned or hassled; for some inexplicable reason that hasn't happened yet :p

I do miss the folks who've drifted off.

I'd like to congratulate a very stubborn management for organizing this exodus. All I can say is, you've been given ample warning. But, RX8ers can still be found solving the world's problems and engaging in group hugs if you know where to look.

Umm, I'm going to have to argue with this, just a little. Lexus and Acura are not compeitition for BMW anywhere but the price tags.

EDIT: Maybe I should throw in reliability and coushyness. But they certainly didn't take the best parts of BMW.

My point is not about cars....and I would just ask you to look at the JD power ratings on these. The german marks are slipping a lot, while acura and lexus continue to improve.

Well, that makes two of us. I'm out too.

What I really hope is that the moderators realize what the main complaint is. Not that they decided to enforce the no political discussion rule, but HOW they enforced it.

As Doc says, the lack of consistency regarding the rules and having to "guess" at what was allowed and wasn't was/is dumbfounding.
