Dallas Auto Show

Does anyone know if the RX-8 is going to be at the Dallas Auto Show? That's basically the only reason why I want to go. If not I'm not going. I don't care to see 50 new SUVs and a few crazy concepts.
Thanks

Honesly, it probably won't.

I was just at the Providence car show about 3 weeks ago, and it wasn't there.

Though the Ford GT40 was, and let me tell ya, it was worth it just for that!

Since Dallas isn't a big show a la New York or Detriot, there's no reason for them to show it...not yet anyway.

Why don't they consider Dallas a large show? There were over 400,000 people that attended last year. How many attend the NewYork and Detroit. People don't even drive in New York. At least when I was there it was all cabs or people walking. I'm sure there is more to New York than where I was though. Anyway, that sure is disappointing.

it's not sized by how many attend...it's all about the press.

Generally it's worked out so that Detriot is the first major car show of the year where new models and concept cars are displayed.

Then the New York show is held, and that's where they pretty much finalize any rumors of cars coming out next year.

In the US, those are (in terms of finding out about new cars), the only two shows that count.

That's too bad. Unfortunately I'm on eof those people that have to sit and feel the car. Take it around the block and get a good feel of the car. I can't just order one based off the look.

I'm the same way...but I won't be buying the car immediately, either.

I look at what happened with the WRX. The first couple allotments had all kinds of Check Engine light issues and stuff. Nothing major..but still, on a 200 mile old car, the last thing you want to see is the CE light flashing.

I'll wait for about 2 or 3 months after they come out...so hopefully the rage died and prices aren't crazy.

That will probably be my plan as well. I unfortunately sold my FD, because of a new family member. I jumped into the Acura TL-S. It's an extremely nice car but I'm a rotary nut. So I'm thinking of swapping. Have you seen the trunk in the RX-8? I wonder how much baby gear I'm going to be able to fit in there.

no, sorry, I haven't seen the trunk...

...but I don't imagine you being able to fit much. If by baby-gear, you mean a carraige...eh, that'll be REAL tight.

Hello all! This is my first post here as I am on rx7forum.com, but I have been observing for a while. With that said, the RX8 is said to easily swallow two sets of golf bags. It should more than satisfy the requirements for the new addition to the family
