Cancelled RX-8

It's true, I cancelled my order. Funny thing is I still got the Pre-Order book even though I was getting dealer allocation vehicle.

I had a Winning Blue 6MT with sport pkg on order through a dealer in Orlando. Email me at saejin@hotmail.com if you want it and I'll give you the POC who will be happy to sell it to you at MSRP.

Now, you're probably asking why. I'm over the hype now and started to really think about this purchase. Initially I placed my downpayment so I would be able to buy one, but never really thought of why. In the end, this car is something I may purchase down the raod, but not right now. Plus it's a first year production, Mazda is tweaking the numbers on us, and I drove the Mazda 6 to get an idea of Mazda Quality. Not bad, but I'm going to wait.

I opted for a certified used Audi A4 1.8T. Picked it up for 22k with only 10k miles. I absolutely love this car. It may not have the performance numbers of the RX8, but it's still an Audi.

Enjoy your RX8's and maybe one day I'll have mine.

Good luck with the A4. I also considered picking one up but I knew I would regret passing up buying the RX-8. As for the hype being over, it hasn't even started. Wait till the car hits the streets and then you'll see hype.

so true though, there's not even a hype yet cause the car has not even arrived yet. This is only the beginning! well, almost to the point of beginning!

That depends on your dealer- mine was $500 fully refundable if I didn't want the car. So he's got a chance.

Still an Audi? Its almost impossible to buy a car here that isnt a damned audi (VW, Skoda, Seat, Audi etc etc). And there all the same. Well build but dull (IMO).

Like the new Golf R32, 230bhp but 1500kg (3300llb) of german snooze mobile. I'd rather rake a risk and have something more fun/interesting. Each to their own I guess, and you can always change your mind later

Damnit, it had the be the config I wanted. And damnit, it's in Florida (close to me). And double damnit that I'm going to have to wait til next year (at the earliest) to afford one.

A4

You won't be dissapointed with the Audi I guarantee. I was THIS || close to buying one in january then I found out about the pre-order program and I canceled my Audi order after sitting in a rx8 at the detroit show. I was looking at a A4 1.8T quattro and it handled like a dream. Fit and finish on the car was incredible. But styling was rather dull. I was looking at spending another $5k on Oettinger accessories to make the thing look decent. I thought the 8 was going to cost me a little less but after all the accessories I've added it's about the same price as an audi (minus the oettinger stuff).
I do LOTS of driving, sometimes 1000+ miles a week so comfort was high on my list as well as gas milage. The 8 at the show had very comforatble seats. Maybe even better than the audi. I've slept since then but I wasn't dissapointed with the 8 at all.
I do see and audi in my future though. I'll retire the 8 in a couple of years and maybe get a S4.
