Never hurt my nose so I couldn't say, but when in doubt, go to a clinic... don't want to risk it. :\

Nose pain.
Swelling of the nose.
A crooked or bent appearance.
Bruising around the nose or eyes.
A runny nose or a nosebleed.
A grating sound or feeling when the nose is touched or rubbed.
Blocked nasal passages.

only way to tell for sure is to get an xray or have kari check it.

the black eyes are a sign that it really might be broken. just have a doctor give a quick look at it.

well, you might just have a high tolerance for pain. if there's swelling and bruising, something's wrong. go to the dr.

I'm 99% sure I've broken my nose (and my big toe, but that's another story) but I never remember having any bruising, bleeding, or anything - but I do remember getting hit in the nose quite a number of times growing up. If I look at it in the mirror, the bottom sits about 1/8" to 1/4" to the left relative to the bridge. It's not enough that anyone would really notice, but a couple of my good friends have noticed it. I think you'll be fine. Walk it off.

Black eyes are caused by bleeding beneath the skin, typically they will be very black, then change to purple, green and yellow as the blood is reabsorbed.

Usually a black eye is caused by a broken bone in the delicate bones that surround the eye. I suggest you might have your doc X-ray it .. Meanwhile cold packs will help reduce the bleeding and in a week or so when it startes looking mottled and green you might consider warm packs to speed recovery...

If you know your opponents name, you might consider recovering medical costs unless you left him in even worse shape - take pictures while you are still showing visable symptoms.

What's with the overabundance of morons who can't spell, punctuate, capitalize, or even string together coherent sentences?

At least it's legible. I'm bothered by bad grammar and punctuation as much as the next guy, but his post really wasn't so bad. Head over to the Gamespot (or gamefaqs) forums for a while, it'll make RX8Club look like it's full of ivy league scholars.

you know its prolly a good idea to go get it checked out. Sometimes a break is obvious sometimes it isnt, thats why we have x-ray and MRI machines. If you have a break you need to have it treated/set/checked out...you are currently swollen so you have no idea whether or not your nose has become misshapen or not. This is your face you owe it to yourself to have it checked on.

For the life of me i don't understand why people's first reaction is to ask online what something is as opposed to seeing a professional.

I know. Meanwhile, my family is always calling me stating they have (fill in the blank) symptoms and want to know what is wrong with them or what they should do about it. Like I know, considering I can't see what's wrong with them over the phone or narrow it down more than minimally on the basis of vague symptoms ("I have a rash"). Besides that, I DON'T HAVE A MEDICAL LICENSE!!! They seem to think that because I spend all day typing up medical reports I qualify to give medical advice/treatment. Grrrr!!!!! I always tell them to call an advice nurse or go in if they are that concerned.

get some one to hit you on the nose again - if it really really hurts - it was broken .
