Truck carrying 40,000 pounds of beer overturns in Vermont

SWANTON, Vermont (AP) - Police say a truck carrying 40,000 pounds of beer overturned in Vermont and closed a highway for several hours.
The truck went off the road Monday morning on Route 78 in Swanton. It rolled over and landed in a swamp on a wildlife refuge. The crash also knocked down some power lines.
Travis Greeno, assistant chief of the Swanton Fire Department, says the truck had to be offloaded before it was pulled out of the ditch. He said it was "going to be a long day."
The highway was closed for several hours.
The truck driver was not hurt. It is unclear why he went off the road.
No beer spilled into the swamp.

It depends on what kind of beer it was. If it was good beer then yes there is reason to cry. However if it was your typical light American drinking common swill crap then they should go ahead pour it out and then do it again.

You're sad a truck full of Busch crashed? .......You my friend, need to be re-introduced to the world of beer.
Excuse me?!?! I'm very well acquainted with the world of beer. I love beer... ice coooold Busch Light Draft. Have that on a hot day with a burger. MMMmmmm.
To have that wonderful beer wasted is a shame.
I bet you secretly don't even like bitter nasty beer, and you just drink it to look like a snob. I can't understand how anybody can like that putrid, stale, skunky, charred crap. Taste like it's dirt water filtered through old socks.
You sit around and describe "your" beer like it's some delicacy. You all sound ridiculous, like youre trying to play up whatever revolting taste you find in it. The more revolting, the better. It's sick. Just drink something that tastes good... like Busch beer. Ok I'm just kidding about all this. I hate Busch. Last night I had a Lagunitas Censored Rich Copper Ale. I recommend it if you like carmel malt.

Reminds me of some old movie, maybe John Wayne, where the Army had captured a load of smuggled whiskey. At some point the crusty Scottish sergeant was told to "get rid of the whiskey." Looking at the cases of liquor in the storage room, he produces a cup from his mess kit and says to his platoon, "C'mon lads, there's man's work to be done here tonight.":beer :
Hmm, appears to be a defective beer in that lot; wonder what brand it is?

^ You reminded me exsequor. Story time. I was in college. We're down on 6th street in Austin, and went to a smallish bar with a band playing (The Ugly Americans). In the back, they were selling beer that was in a huge aluminum trough filled to the top with cans and ice for $1. One. Dollar.
It was Pabst Blue Ribbon. Dude. It was a hundred degrees in that bar with everybody packed in, dancing and jumping around. I admit it. It tasted so good. I have no idea how many we bought and drained. There were dollar bills, ice, and beers flying all over the place. It was awesome. I haven't had it since.
I guess cheap beer with the right context isnt all bad.

Ok, I'm drinking one. I'm not dead yet. It's not really good, but it is the way I remember it. I'll keep going with it this evening and see what happens.

What? I don't know about this... the one I'm drinking has "IS" on the bottom.

Here's the beer advocate review. The consensus seems to be that it is horribly decent beer. The brothers actually gave it a "B". He nailed by describing it as having a corn grit sweetness with some grassiness and faint grits flavor. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/447/1331/?ba=bros
It's just a very simple beer to be paired with simple cuisine. I haven't seen "Gran Torino" yet, but apparently that's what Clint drinks in it.

Oh, and sorry to threadjack, caveney... hope you don't mind.
Third Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. Steak is cooling under foil for 10 minutes. Using a frosted pint glass now, and that rotten smell is gone. It's actually tasting pretty damn good now. No kidding. Enjoying it. It was sooo cold that when it hit the pint glass, little ice crystal formed inside the beer, and then disappeared after a minute. Perfect.... or maybe its just the beer talking.

Shit, I remember the good ol' days of college, first senior year (now 4 years ago), I could walk across the street to the gas station with $11 and come home with a 30 pack of cold Keystone Light and CHANGE. That's right, 3 cans was barely a dollar. And I gotta tell you, after about 6 or 7, you don't mind it anymore, and it's like water anyways. We used to use the good beer for enjoyment and the Keystone to fill the beer pong cups. Double the punishment for losing.
PBR is pretty bad, but it's usually on special just about everywhere, and it gets the job done. Now, I remember one night at my buddies house playing a Rally Monkey drinking game with Milwaukee's Best Ice. That was rough.
Of course, NOTHING is as bad as Night Train Express. Seriously. I dare anyone to ride the Night Train and not wish for death the next morning.

AHAHAHA I had never heard of Night Train Express. I didn't know that Night Train by GnR was written about Night Train Express. That's hilarious. All we had was Mad Dog 20/20.
"I'm on the Mad Dog" just doesn't have the same ring...
