FS: Racing Beat front sway bar

Selling a Racing Beat front sway bar with bushings, brackets and grease.

This sway bar makes a huge difference in handling, giving you better control and feel while cornering.

From Racing Beat:
Quote:
Racing Beat-designed sway bars reduce chassis roll during cornering and increases your car’s sensitivity to steering inputs, thereby improving maximum cornering power. Substantial engineering effort, select steel alloys, and precise manufacturing processes are combined to produce top performance components. All Racing Beat sway bars are finished with a distinctive, red powder coating that provides a smooth, glossy protective layer. You can be assured of many years of superior handling performance with these proven bars!

The diameter of the RB front tubular bar is 1.25" (32mm) x .1875" wall thickness, as compared to the stock 1.05" (27mm) x .134" wall thickness front bar. An additional feature of the front bar is a pair of OEM style "stoppers" to prevent the bar from sliding sideways in the bar bushings during heavy cornering effort. Each bar is supplied with replacement urethane bushings, bar clamps, Prothane grease and installation instructions.

During test sessions using our Racelogic VBox GPS data acquisition system, we recorded noticeable handling improvements after the installation of the Racing Beat sway bar set. Using the stock wheel/tire/ combination on our 2004 RX-8, we recorded the following cornering forces:

Stock Bars: .86-.87g
RB Bars: .89-.90
Additional information:
Normal signs of wear from install/use. Connection holes *are not* drilled out, so they will still work with the stock end links.

Prefer to not have to ship it, so DFW folks (or anyone willing to drive through here) will have priority.

Price: $140 - SOLD!

You pay shipping, if it comes to that.

I'd say you'd be about the 5th person to offer that.

On the flip side, I could bring it down for The Texas 8 meet, but that means you wouldn't have it until then.

Send a message via AIM to KWarner04
Is there any advantage to waiting and putting both the front and back sway bars on instead of just having the front?

I haven't done a whole lot of research, so I'm not sure if it would impact handling or now.

Actually many guys feel running an aftermarket front with the OEM rear is the way to go. I trust these guys opinions so I will give that a shot before I buy a rear bar.

^^^ Ive heard that as well... but it just seems weird to not buy a rear bar as well, i mean I assume Racing Beat knew this when they designed their Sways therefore they made the rear one a little better to help the front, then again I dont know, it just seems logical...

I'm currently running RB front and OEM rear.

To counter your thoughts on the rear, keep in mind that I managed to snap their rear, but not the OEM one.

As to the question about handling with just the front, my personal opinion is that it's very good. I'd still like to get another RB rear, but I've been running just an RB front with OEM rear for about a year now.

I am sure it won't hurt anything, a good product for sure. But, Racing beat is in it to sell a product so of course they will recommend it.

True, Every business has to sell to actually be a business and stay afloat, but I dont/cant see Racing Beat making a product that will make your car handle worse, or they would of stated something about this issue. Keep us posted 9K as Im looking/researching sways for my next mod...

well there are plenty of companies that market and sell "performance" parts for the 8 that are really of no real benefit. I had a chat a while back with a guy at our local autox that usually runs the fastest times and he drives a stock WB RX8 sport with just Hoosiers. Driver Mod FTW.
