So yeah, I loved rx when I was little, so finally bought a used one from this dealer. Idk if I got ripped off or not.

92k mile
blue color
2004 sport pck, all leather seat, electrical seating adjustment and etc
moon roof

I did repair for injector$600
still need to change tires, since the tire pressure light keeps coming on ( it think the two back tires are giving out)

bought the car with Tax and title stuff include for 8.7k and 600 for repair.

Anyways, after reading alot of the info on the site, NOW i am debating if I should keep this baby or sell it for a more reliable car.

How would i know if my engine will no go out on me? go do a compression test?

also the shocks... is it me or the the shocks on rx8 is freaking hard as rock?

Naw, you didn't get ripped off. I'd pay that. In fact, those of us that bought a couple years ago are "ripped off".

Welcome to HOU. I debate selling my 8 but I love it. Although others don't appraise it the value that I would, I still appreciate the 8 and it's gave me minimal issues.

- no, shocks aren't too stiff for stock, check if your suspension is stock.

email me if you have any questions; it looks like HOU isn't too active but I'd love to help a new 8 member out.

I think the most important question at this point: is it automatic or manual?

Ummm ops sorry

It is an automatic 4 speed automatic Lolz

Oh so it's the suspensions problem? It is really freaking hard when I go to the china area feels like I am riding a roller coaster.

Anyways. I had the car checked out at my mechanic. He did some computer stuff on it and told me the engine is strong and good. But shouldn't I still go to a Mazda dealer to do a compression test ?
I checked that the 04 mazda gets 100k mile warranty on engine right?

what exactly is wrong? Yes, you have a 8 year / 100k so basically you might have 2 months to get mazda to "fix" your problem; whatever it may be.

I know the auto rx-8's 2004 have alot of issues; I saw the issue in person, the transmission doesn't like to shift and it has power loss (it will stay in the low rpms)

china town is a rollercoaster in general... that's not a good basis to judge your suspension. lol

good luck.

the 8yr 100k warranty started when the car was first bought. most 04s are out of warranty by now
