Call Mazmart (a RX8Club Vendor) for the availability of a used rear bumper. They may even have it in your color.
If you aren't required to pollution test your car, gutting out the cat is an option. There are vendors here that will sell you a high flow cat pipe for a fraction of the price that Mazda will charge for there replacement. A third option is to keep an eye on the Classifieds section. Used cats come up for sale about once a month.

I'd also considering contacting the service department at Freeman Mazda in Irving and tell them you are part of the RX8 club. They give us discounts on parts.
