Best Deal in San Antonio?

Out of you guys here in San Antonio, who here has gotten the best deal? I went to IPAC (yea I know big mistake) where they tried to start at 5k over MSRP, so I don't think I'll be going back to there. Where did everyone go? Good and bad experiences, I want to hear them. Also, let me know if you bought yours before or after the change in HP ratings from Mazda, to see if that gave you any more leverage in negotiations. Thanks guys.

Yeah avoid IPAC like the plague!!

I have my order at North Park, they've been great. I ordered before the hp issue, and as soon as I stepped on the lot the day after the news broke, their sales manager made a bee line too me to show me that I was eligible, and then sent me out on another test drive. I went with them because they are so professional and didn't try any of the cheesey sales talk. If you go, ask for Ray Bazo (sp?), he's a good low key guy. Honestly, I couldn't be happier with the way I've been treated at North Park.

Legend Mazda was very nice also, but they didn't want to let me order one. World Car was also nice, and they have that 10yr warranty, but they're nowhere close to where I live.

As for negotiating, I really don't know. I didn't try to haggle. I just want my car!!

Good luck with the purchase, keep us posted.

Talk to Jim Gise @ World Car in New Braunfels. I bought it for $1k under MSRP and he's really taken care of me. They also have a bunch on their lot. Tell him Dave sent you...

Forgot to add this... I bought it after the 26 Aug date for the HP issue.

The warranty covers the major stuff & not any of the wear & tear stuff. You'd have to look @ the warranty paperwork to see exactly (it's pretty long). It didn't cost me anything extra. Like I said earlier, I bought it for $1k under MSRP. Give Jim Gise a call @ 800-580-1245 ext. 2038 & tell him Dave sent you. He can explain all the details about the warranty. They have a bunch of them up there, go test drive one...you'll love it!!!

Thanks for the info on the warranty. San Antonio is about two hours away from my location but it sounds like it would be worth it. There are 3 dealerships within 45 minutes of my place but they have not impressed me at all. One of the dealerships had a red 6mt sitting on the lot that actually had "2004 XR8" on the windshield. The other dealership I went to did not seem any better. The salesman told me that the RX-8 had a 1.3 six cylinder under the hood. Am I wrong for not wanting to deal with them? Regardless, I know that it is a great car and I can't wait to get one.

I would definitely say that it's worth it. Just give Jim a call and he'll take care of you. BTW: It's in New Braunfels (near San Antonio, just north on 35).
