Austin engine rebuild
So it looks like I'm going to need a rebuild for my 04. It's just out of warranty and unless Mazda works with me on it I'm going to have to get it done.
Anybody know someplace in Austin? I can get it pulled and take it someplace.
Thanks for any help.

I'd like to not have out put of commission too long..but it takes what it takes. My son in law is a mechanic and he could pull the engine and put it back but doesn't have time to rebuild it. I don't even know what to expect it to cost.

Didn't expect it to cost that much, I'll see what Mazda says about it. I saw a guy I could ship it to in Tennessee who did them for $1450 plus shipping. may have to go that route.

Different engine builders have different levels of parts replacement as standard for their engine builds, so make sure you are comparing more than just overall cost.
There is a HUGE difference between someone who builds engines as a full-time profession and some guy on a forum that managed to build an engine for himself in his spare time.
Be careful with offers from internet forums..........

[quote=shadycrew31;4277551]I've never heard of someone what can do them for 1450 shipped. The new seals, springs etc cost around $1300 alone without replacement of internals.[/
