Having finally tracked down some "linear" sensors, I was able to port oil temp and pressure to the display. I used an AEM sender for pressure and a PLX setup for temp. I had fun with the multiplier / offset calculations so if you use the same sensors, here they are. With the exceptiom of wire, shrink tubing, tape etc., this is all the parts required. I mounted the 5v supply inside the PLX box and ran a 5 wire harness to the sensor plate (routed through the shifter boot as RB does). Be sure to wrap the harness flat at the shifter boot plate and use a little foam tape to avoid pinching the wire.

After testing and comparing temps and pressures I pulled my RB gauges and reinstalled the ashtray. This set up seems plenty accurate and is easier to read.

So I finally got around to installing this Oil temperature sensor and giving it a go at working with the GoodBox. At first I thought things were working, but I realized that the ADC was maxing out at 3.5VDC. Has anyone else had this issue?
Basically I Am monitoring the voltage with my meter, comparing it to the graph provided with the sender unit and them comparing the raw values the GoodBox is showing. When My multimeter reads 3.5VDC the GoodBox is maxing at 1023 and, showing me the max temperature+offset value (in my case it's showing 214F). According the the AeroForce graph 3.5V should be somewhere around 190.0 And this shows true in my readings...as soon as the goodbox reads 189 the next step it takes is maxing out and showing 200+.

Given that the raw voltage output from your sensor correlates appropriately with the temperature, the problem points to the GOODbox. Either it's a software problem interpolating the voltage into the 0-1023 'raw' value, or perhaps the ADC in the chip is fried. I think Pieter did mention somewhere back in this thread that there was a risk of frying the ADC if it ever received more than 5 volts.

Wow, and I thought I worked slowly... 4 years to get around to fitting that sensor?

Either it's a software problem interpolating the voltage into the 0-1023 'raw' value, or perhaps the ADC in the chip is fried. I think Pieter did mention somewhere back in this thread that there was a risk of frying the ADC if it ever received more than 5 volts.

EDIT: For the record I have had the sensor plugged into the sandwich plate for close to 3 years. However I wasn't looking forward to the characterization of the sensor so much that I just put off running the cables and hooking up the regulator.

So I plugged in the 0271 multiplier and 0 offset and got what seems to be normal readings up to a point. So The oil temp seems to track pretty well with the coolant temperature, albeit slower. However, I am finding that after 5-10 minutes of driving the raw values reads 0000 and the temp read 208F for quite some time. My outside temp was 95 yesterday so 208F seems about right for highway. After I hit a couple of stoplights I noticed the raw values started climbing again. The were no longer approaching 1023, but were starting from 0000 and increasing. The reported temperature was also going up to 210, then 212 before I started moving again.
This seems weird to me...

One thing that can cause calibration errors and/or inconsistent results is a ground loop. This comes from different devices being grounded at different points on the chassis. The solution is to bring the probe ground back on a separate wire and attach it to the same wire as the GoodBox.
