Post (CLOSED) Velolite Titanium Wheel Lug Bolts

*** MOD EDIT: Group buy approved by Omicron 09/10/2004 ***

As promised, here is the group buy for the "Titanium Wheel Bolts for the RX8"...

There will be 10 sets available with 20 lug bolts per set for forum members, these are forged T4 with rolled threads and then heat treated for additional strength. They are 10mm longer than stock and include a speed starter to help protect against cross-threading. Much hard work and testing went into this project to insure a very strong and quality product.

They are guaranteed against defects, if one fails do to a defect it will be replaced free of charge...

You can read more about it here on this thread:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-wheels-tires-brakes-suspension-55/titanium-wheel-lug-project-32091/

In a set you will receive 20 lug bolts nicely packaged, a tube of moly grease to add to the threads during installation and a instruction sheet on the proper installation procedures and torque specs...

I have been able to reduce the pricing since I will be also producing the lightweight pulleys, here is the reduced pricing:

The sets are U$295.00 + 7.50 for shipping anywhere in the continental US... (For Alaska/Hawaii and international shipments PM me and I will let you know...)

Sets of Kyokugen lug nuts are available for U$49.00 no additional shipping for those who would like to reduce weight even more...

Here is a link to the lug nut thread:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-wheels-tires-brakes-suspension-55/kyokugen-lug-nuts-installed-29177/

Payment: Can be via PayPal or Money Order/Cashiers Check or Personal Check. (If paying by personal check allow 5 business days for the check to clear...)

PayPal payments should be sent to: Please PM for payment account...

For Checks PM me and I will send you the address...

Once the group buy is over the bolts will be shipped within 2-3 weeks via USPS insured mail and a tracking number will be sent via PM to everyone...

Uh, what torque setting are you using and why the moly grease?

PS. That blue font is totally unreadable against the classic (white) background.

I posted with the standard font and color? The moly grease is for the threads, actually all wheel lugs should be slightly greased especially if you are running after market forged aluminum lug nuts. It also helps protect the new lugs from galling...

The torque setting should be 75ft/lbs...

It might have something to do with the plasma vs oviar themes. Your font looks right w/ the plasma theme and you can't read it in oviar.

Anyway, assuming this GB goes well, will there be another? I still have to land a job before I can start buying things for my car again

Due to the fact that I have negotiated with my machine shop on production of the pulley sets I am working on, the price of the titanium lug bolts have come down...

Also for those who want for an additional U$49.00 you can have a set of the Kyokugen forged light weight lug nuts and no additional shipping...

Bolts and lug nuts will fit with any type of rim, right cortc? I've stock now... I'm planning to change them later (MS flywheel/suspension first).

Thanks

Come on guys... what's wrong with you? Can't you tell a nice product, when you see one?

Cam: if you love them, get them. I had other mods in mind too, but I decided to leave them for later, because now is the chance for these light beauties

Well the pulleys are about 4-6 weeks out, however now that I see how this group buy is going I am starting to wonder if it is worth the hassle, as this is not something that is making any money...

All of the pricing I have put together is at cost and something I am doing to help out my fellow forum members...

Cortc, I definetly appreciate the effort, and if I had a the money I would be all of this buy (and the pulleys) like stink on ****.

I just dont want to say "count me in", then time comes to pay and I dont have the money. Thats not fair to you, and it makes me look like a schmuck.

I am going to be able to buy one mod around December, so Im 90% sure I'd like the titanium pulley set.

They look nice but 300 for some lug nuts is alot for some people. Now if your pulleys are around this price then I will be in line to buy them but if your cost is going to be significantly higher then I will have to get the UR pulleys. But once again they look real good and look like quality pieces.

The pulleys alone are going to be about 325-375 the titanium nuts and bolts about 75 and the titanium crank hub will run about 225...

These lug bolts are very high quality pieces and more material and time goes into making them then the pulleys...

The pulleys will be better than anything you can buy elsewhere; however once I make my set the only way I can make them and these available for everyone at these prices is to make at least ten sets of each...

Cortc,

Thanks for your efforts and your sharing of your mods. If the results for your pulley's are as substantial as I hope they will be then I think I will be in. I don't want to make promises I can't keep so I can't offer anything definitive but I hope you follow through and I hope you keep sharing your mods... definitely my favorite poster here.
