Good Guy: Charles BHR
Adding to the already obvious.
Had my BHR Ignition kit reconditioned. He received it during the July 4th weekend and it arrived today, 7/10/14. Very quick considering the holiday. Great service as expected.

Everybody knows Ray and knows he's a good guy, but I wanted to add that he sent my flywheel 2-day rush at no extra charge so I could get my daily-drive RX8 out of the transmission shop. Solid dude.

Goes without saying, but definitely worth a bump.
Ray went well out of his way recently helping me troubleshoot a misfire condition. His coils proved to be just fine after 4 years of heavy usage.

For some reason I can't create a new topic here...
With that being said, I've been lurking around for about a year and have been very hesitant to pull the trigger on buying anything from these small companies. There have been tons of scams, and I've taken weeks researching only to find a problem before making a purchase.
BHR and Charles stood out as being reputable and delivering a quality product time and again. I took the plunge and bought the BHR ignition system and an AEM cold air intake close to midnight on Saturday. Monday morning around 11am EST and 8am AZ time I have 2 separate emails telling me that my order has been shipped and tracking numbers were provided. Great service so far, I believe that BHR are old school guys that mean what they say and say what they mean. A BHR midpipe may be in my future.
Just wanted to say something good, these seem like good people to deal with.

I love the sound of mine with the stock exhaust.
I have the ignition also.
He offered advice when I first joined and had problems with my 8.
I didn't know anything about him or his company, and he never solicited me as a customer.
I only learned about it when I decided to get a midpipe.

+1 to Charles at BHR
My 8 started misfiring after having a BHR ignition on for two months. Charles was very patient with me through all communication (I was slightly frustrated). Sent the system back to him, it was repaired and returned in the same week without charge or issue.
When I can get a midpipe, I'll be going here. Super happy with them ^.^

+1 to Charles. I just bought the header. I had wanted it pretty bad since he announced he was working on it. Started saving my pennies, and finally got enough. Bought it, and it was here very promptly. Overall the whole transaction took just shy of 2 weeks, from purchase to receipt. Considering I'm international (Canadian, eh?), so that's pretty good time.
As always, very prompt with communication and very helpful.

Cool, please post your experiences in the BHR Header thread.
I'm very interested in your impressions of it.
Thanks.

Just wanted to add to this. Charles sent me the fuel pump removal tool asap. I'm pretty sure it was in the mail the same day I ordered it. Also, I received a Lanyard and stickers for MO POWA

One more transaction with BHR and one more +1 to the good guy column. Bought the reinforced clutch pedal and Charles was quick to ship and get my 8 back up and running. Just had a quick question, do the stickers add cumulative horsepower, or is there some upper limit? Am I looking at diminishing returns? I mean, I've got something like 8 of these things now...

+1 Good guy Charles
I bought a used BHR ignition kit w/o wires.
Charles sent out new wires at a good price, included the spacers, and traded a few emails including instructions.
Excellent support especially considering I've bought nothing new from BHR, only used.

The only issue I had is the heat.. I highly recommend a heat shield, or a vented hood. The latter option is what I went with.
Regards!

I've had the header on for 8 months and almost 2,000 miles. Fitment was great, I installed it with the help of 2 friends so it took maybe 2 hours with long breaks. As for the sound, you can hear it under load mated to a RB catback:

I don't think I want a vented hood.
A heat shield for the entire header, or mainly near the engine?

I installed the header with no heat wrap or ceramic coating. I suppose you can do that too. The heatshield has to prevent the engine bay from heat soaking if you go that route. It would be a good idea to put one between the transmission gearbox housing and the midpipe as well because of the way it angles. Like I said, my solution was a vented hood to keep the heat under control.

Nothing is over heating. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if it's less heat coming out since the engine is supposed to evacuate it quicker with no CAT.
The stock manifold has a heat shield on and the BHR header does not. So that heat goes somewhere. The header also has more surface area. All that heat has to soak somewhere.
