Right below everyones name there is a thing that says "Trader Score (#)" if it has a number there you can click on it and see feedback from others. He has a score of 3 and all positive feedback on there.

Over the last month or so, I've been attempting to purchase one of his MS bumpers he was offering through the forum. At the beginning, communication was great.
However, I had a few questions I had to ask him regarding the bumpers and shipping, and he rarely responded to any of them. He insisted that he was busy (I can empathize with that, as I myself have been thoroughly busy for the past year). Yet, he never answered any of the questions.
I have sent him a couple text messages inquiring if they are still available or not. He has read the messages, yet hasn't responded. Normally I wouldn't care, but I have very limited access to the internet right now, and all I ask is for a simple "yay" or "nay". Neither have been offered. As we all know, these bumpers are hard enough to track, as is.

Therefore I'm prompted to let members be aware that, though I don't think he's a scammer, he's just rather unprofessional as a seller (which is surprising, considering his itrader score...). Or perhaps it's a personal matter.

I bought a couple of things from him that required it to be specialized. For me personally, communication is great and I can empathize for him being busy as I myself is crazy busy at work. Whenever i get slightly on edge, I'll shoot him over a PM and he responds promptly. I have not yet received the product due to my special request and that is understandable but overall, i believe he's a good seller in my perspective.

Or, it's my experience as a potential buyer. I waited long enough for a response without getting one, which in turn led me to miss an opportunity to purchase another from an outside source. The downside to trying to "keep it in the community".

Hence, my duty to let others know.

Like RX8Soldier, I have never purchased anything from Bennettbuild but, trust me, that is not due to lack of trying. Two/three weeks ago BB listed a MS strut bar and other bits and bobs for sale on this forum. I was lucky enough to be the first to contact BB about the MS strut bar.

Like RX8Soldier communication was great....at first! Then someone on this forum (no name mentioned) contacted Bennettbuild with 275 greenbacks and can pay via PayPal knowing full well that I had first refusal.

After I saw this I contacted Bennettbuild. Did he respond? No!! I pm'ed him and even tried his phone number again and again no reply. I am grateful that Bennettbuilt did not call the police as I almost became a stalker.

Yeah... he probably sold the MS strut bar to the other guy (good luck to him) or he may have moved or gone on holiday, who knows? One thing for sure, Bennettbuild did a bloody good impression of LORD LUCAN.

I have been working 20+ hours a day on a friends car painting / getting it ready for an event this weekend. Im sorry I didnt get back to you or anyone else the last few days, I havent sold the MS struts just havent had the time to worry about selling things at the moment. I never knew working too much to sell car parts on a forum for a week would cause such drama.

I am now done with the car and will getting back to everyone.

I can relate to BennetBuilt's problem. I still have to follow up with a couple peeps over a couple things I had listed a couple weeks ago.

Life has a way of getting in the way of things. For me, my 8 is a hobby and work and family must take priority.

Not sure what BennetBuilt does for a living, but if its anything other than running his own shop or being the parts guy, we should have a sliver of patience for him assuming he hasn't taken peoples' money and not delivered... that is another problem entirely an inexcusable..

I'm sorry, I guess I have a low level of patience for hearing about this sort of thing since I just waited 6 weeks for a part I paid an individual for and he never could actually ship it out because 'life got in the way" so I eventually had to file a paypal dispute to get a refund.

I do not see the complication. If you have time to list the parts, then you take time to sell the parts. If you are short on time you should not list the parts to begin with, or take the listing down when you see that you will not be able to follow through.

I think people underestimate the time and effort it takes to sell parts online and part out a car. Then they get into it and are like "oh, ****, what have I done" and become overwhelmed, and this is what we end up with. This is especially true if the person is not familiar with packaging and shipping odd shaped parts.

I completely understand your position, RR. After all it is your business and you can be impacted on both sides of it.

My only point is that we don't have any context around BB's situation. If he's in the business of selling parts (it is certanly a possibility given the sheer # of parts he's put up for sale here over the past month or two) he's doing a poor job. People will catch on -- I think this thread certainly suggest that -- and avoid him in the future.

We don't have any reports of him taking money and not delivering, at least none that have been reported so I'm hesitant to convict him of fraud and can relate to real life getting in the way. That doesn't make it excusable... I'd certainly be annoyed if he had something I wanted and didn't get back to me to seal the deal.

I have had parts listed here for years, I have never had any problems with communication before.

Like I have said several times now, I had a week to completely take a car apart and repaint everything inside / out and also install a full drivetrain ect so that the car could make it to an event this weekend. I was working on the car 20+ hours a day for almost a week to get it done. Over the course of the week I had 2 guys ask about parts but I didn't even get to look at their messages until a couple days ago. I never told them to send me money then not ship the part. I'm not going to delete all of my for sale ad because im going to be working overtime for a week that is ridiculous.

I have parted out several Rx8's and sold a few as well over the past few years, Its not my "job" its something I do on the side. All the parts im selling now are my personal Rx8's. Taking both back to stock to sell. The problem in this thread is people are acting like I sold parts and didn't follow through because im "overwhelmed" which is simply not true. I couldn't get onto the forum for a few days because of my day job. Its simple. I never ripped anyone off im not a thief and I try to do the best I can when I have the time. Im not going to take time off my real job to make sure I sell a "Mazdaspeed strut brace" on "Rx8club."






I have performance parts up for sale from personal cars of mine. Turbo kit / 13brew swap / suspensions / other aftermarket parts from my 2 personal rx8's. That is no where near enough to have a "business". I would never start a business selling parts for rx8's because the cars value has dropped way to far and no one buys anything. I have had parts listed here for months, I cant just stop my day job when someone finally gets interested in something. I texted the guy back a couple days late, If he doesn't like the fact that I was to busy with my job that pays my bills then o well I guess he wont be buying something I have for sale. When I wrote him back I apologized and told him the situation, he wrote back saying " K ". Then goes on the "Rx8club" to whine that he didn't get a Mazdaspeed strut bar.

Here are the messages I received from BennettBuilt, after I had initially contacted him regarding my interest for the bumpers he had posted for sale on the forums (If you'll pay attention to the dates of the messages. And, it doesn't show, but all messages had shown "read"):









Again, I am in no way saying that he is a scammer. I didn't send him money for parts. My only gripe is that he said he would "look into it", and he never did. Doing so cost me 2 other bumpers that were on sale from another source. As you can see, I was ready to make a deal. All he had to do was respond.

Now, I am again leaving for months at a time with LITTLE TO NO internet access, making it difficult for me to follow sales and whatnot.

My advice is that if you are busy, let people know. You were busy enough to sell the bumpers, yet I was still waiting for a response. It would be like you waiting an hour in a lineup for groceries and when you finally get to the checkout, they say "we're closed". You'd be pretty upset, right?

I'm done with this, as I have no more time for it. Again, I DON'T THINK HE IS A BAD GUY! Would I purchase from him? No. But, that's just because of how he handled MY situation. Would I recommend him for others? Yes, as long as he isn't too busy at the time of the sale...

I was contacted on 4/13 by Rx8Soldier interested in 1 bumper I wrote back and emailed him back, On 4/20 a buyer who was interested long before Rx8Soldier sent me a message saying he sent payment for BOTH bumpers which is better for shipping and makes for an easier process.

On 5/03 I got a text from Rx8Soldier about the already sold bumpers. I shouldve told him they were sold but I didnt have time to write anyone back for days. I was getting text's and emails from alot of people and couldnt get back to anyone. But being blamed and called a bad guy because I had already sold the bumper and just didn't write back saying the bumper was sold is crazy.

This thread is ridiculous.

And like others said. If you had time to sell it to someone else, you had time to reply to the people who contacted you first about wanting to buy the part.
