And like others said. If you had time to sell it to someone else, you had time to reply to the people who contacted you first about wanting to buy the part.

Because I had a buyer for BOTH bumpers you wanted only one. Selling both to one person is alot easier then selling individually and as for being contacted first id like to note that the guy who bought them was the FIRST person out of the 15+ to send me a message about the bumpers. He wrote me the same day I listed them for sale showing interest.

I purchased a rebuilt engine from BennettBuilt on 27 Nov 2013. The engine was to be freshly rebuilt.

I read this thread and others of his before buying and after reading decided that it should be ok and I believe I've been very understanding of his busy schedule.

I requested pictures of the build so for one, I could see the progress and post it on my build thread; and for two, so I could be reassured that progress was being made and an engine is being built.

The only pictures I've recieved to this date is of the E shaft, rotors, and bearings sitting on a table.

I recieved tracking info on my Paypal on 12 Dec 2013. When I asked about it(the shipping address was wrong) I was informed that it was someone elses tracking info and it was a mix up. I was understanding.

On 14 Dec 2013 I was told that my engine was scheduled to ship the following week and that he had pics, but I never got the pics.

By 31 Dec 2013 I hadn't recieve any shipping info yet. I was ok with that. The holidays are a very busy time for everyone. So I inquired (no answer) and inquired again on 6 Jan 2014.

It still needed to be strapped to a pallet.

On 15 Jan 2014 the engine was to be picked up for shipment on that friday (17 Jan) and I would have the tracking info ASAP.

On 25 Jan 2014 I was told the engine was still in the shipping terminal and that the company (I was never told the name of the shipping company) does not give out tracking info until the crate is loaded on the truck.

I am concerned and my wife is pissed, she bought the engine for me.

I am not trying to bad mouth you Bennett. I can understand being busy, but I hope that with that you will also understand my concern.

Just give me some peace of mind man. Maybe send me those pictures you said you had on your computer? Something, just throw me a bone here. Tell me I'm stressing for no reason.

**UPDATE** Just recieved pictures of the engine that BennetBuilt just sent my wife. I guess the shipping company has been taking their time.

I have actually been to his shop and bought a used OEM radiator after hitting a mattress on the interstate and Bennett was great. It was in perfect condition as described and he even offered to help me install it (I'm local). I recommend him to anyone.

Just bought an upstream o2 from bennett and it was a great experience, cut me a small deal and held the part for me as I paid in two payments. A great guy, very understanding. I have a tracking number for usps and will be tracking it every day until it arrives. Also, somewhat local.

Bennett do you have a website? I want to look at your oil cooler lines.

My experience with Bennett Built

Purchased the LS2 ignition swap kit from Bennett Built, here's the timeline:

8/20/14: Ordered the kit and then contacted Bennett Built to find out when it would ship. Got a pretty quick response (couple of hours) and I was told it would ship in a couple of days because the brackets were being made at the CNC shop.

8/25/14: Got a message from Bennett Built saying ti would be shipping in about 2 days

8/29/14: Sent a message asking if it had shipped, got no reply

9/2/14: Sent another message asking it it was shipped, no reply

9/3/14: Got a reply with an apology about the delay and was informed that it was shipped this morning along with a $10 coupon for a steel braided oil line kit as an apology for the wait. He said that I would be receiving an email with the tracking number

9/5/14: Received the email with the tracking number

9/8/14: Parts arrived at my house.

(Note: All communication was done over Facebook. I contacted him via phone/text, this forum and FB initially)

Upon removing the kit from the shipping box I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the build. Definitely no cheap junk here. It came with 4 8.5mm MSD wires, 4 LS2 coils, a nice shiny mounting bracket, a will built and shielded wiring harness for the signal wires with a nice long ground wire to put on the chassis.

I haven't installed it yet because while I was waiting for the delivery my car was rear ended in a hit and run and it's been in the body shop for a little over a week. I should be picking the car up this afternoon and I'll probably install the kit this weekend. I can probably post some pics in the thread where his kit was first advertised.

I'll give Bennett Built a

4/5 for customer service
3/5 for shipping and delivery speed
5/5 for quality product

for an over all score of 4/5

I would and will be buying more parts and stuff from Bennett Built in the future. He gets my thumbs up and recommendation to anyone who isn't in a hurry. The wait isn't too bad considering the small market there is for RX8 parts and I suspect other dealers of aftermarket parts for the RX8 have similar turnover time.

I am from the UK and contacted Tim a couple months ago about the an LS2 upgrade. Through numerous emails he confirmed he was genuine. I explained I would need a kit shipping to NH by a specific date and offered to pay a deposit to hold the kit, he told me this was not necessary.

It was VITAL the LS2 kit arrived by the date I requested so a family member could bring it back, I made this absolutely clear from the outset.

I ordered the items and paid $15 extra for 2/3 day shipping a week before I needed it. I sent an email straight away to let him know I had ordered, no response.

Sent 4 more emails from 2 different email addresses to confirm order, no reply.

No shipping reference no contact nothing.

Eventually I opened a paypal dispute and all of a sudden within minutes he emails me saying they ALL went in to his junk folder, despite me emailing him numerous times before, which he got okay?! Says he has shipped but USPS messed up, yet didn't provide any shipping details. Still time to fix I tell him to ship a set overnight, all of a sudden the set I have is the last one despite still being available on his website. Feeds me a load of rubbish about recalling it from USPS and shipping to UK, yeah right!!

Sick of being messed about I have asked for a refund, I am still waiting.

I expected to have these by Saturday and now have no coils and no money and the rest of my car project is on hold.

This is the WORST service I have ever had, I have spent around $5k on my 8 with both UK and US suppliers with no issues. He still has my money and tells me he won't refund until USPS reverse the 'alleged' shipping that I have no reference for.

I will be out of pocket whatever happens due to losses in exchange rates.

I would never use this guy again and would never recommend him.

Even more frustrating I set up a group buy on the UK owners club, could have put a lot of business his way and have no doubt driven traffic to his site. Needless to say the title of the thread has changed to WARNING DO NOT BUY.

Sorry Tim but you have had plenty of opportunity to put this right!

To update this it seems Tim has vanished....

Still no refund and now is refusing to respond to any of my emails....

Sent this today but don't hold out much hope for a response or refund.

Tim

Are you going to respond to my last e-mail or is this going to be dragged out until to the very last minute when it is resolved through Paypal?

Are you doing this to be deliberately obstructive?

Is this how all your customers get treated?

My family have now left the US without the coils I ordered. I have been quite clear In repeated requests for a refund yet you have been unresponsive?

Completely unnecessary, why won't you just refund the payment and accept on this occasion, that you have failed to supply the goods represented on your website in the agreed timescale?

I am still awaiting your response...

I am amazed you guys let a trader like this solicit business on this forum, it seems I am not the only one who has had issues, and judging by some of the PM's his products and services are known to be low quality

You talked to me about the ignition kit then waited WEEKS to even order them until last minute (a week ) before your family member was leaving the country. I only received emails from your email address not multiple. Then a day before your family member left you wrote me, I wrote back saying it looks like USPS is expecting delivery the day AFTER they will be gone, so I immediately offer to ship them overseas to you at MY cost, no extra charge. That didn't work for you. I was offering to lose $40 MORE then the $15 ive already paid in shipping to have it delivered directly to you but you refused several times. So I then go into Paypal and refudn your money, I did this immediately after you requested your money back. Since you had a dispute open Paypal has it listed in there as " Processing the refund " This has nothing to do with me they pulled the money back out of my account a long time ago.

You are so ready to run and call people bad names when I have tried to work with you but you denied all of my efforts. I wasn't even going to make any profit shipping the coils to you overseas but I fealt that would've been the right thing to do.

As for my products being "low quality" that is funny that none of my rebuilds / ignitions / turbo fab / exhausts / etc has ever had a problem. I have not had 1 single person contact me having a problem with anything ive done. If there is someone that has a problem it would be fixed.

Zoom44 I thought it said "Former Vendor" for the fact that I haven't paid $50 this month to be a vendor. Just like every other month I don't pay it says "Former Vendor" but as soon as I send over payment it will say "Startup Vendor" again. NOT because of any type of bad business that I have done. Nice to know the Mods on this forum are so quick to try and slander another person they haven't had any dealings with.

Also to clear up the situation with " ooobigfire " above he bought a rebuilt engine from me then later installed it ran great until his turbo kit fell apart sucking up metal destroying everything in the engine. He couldn't afford to rebuild the engine so I offered him money to just buy everything he had from him, I am not making hardly any money in the end but fealt bad for the guy.

If anyone needs any feedback on me as a person please feel free to come to my town and ask the many people who I help work on their cars daily for basically FREE tell you how I am.

Ok, I am happy to respond to this...

What I could do is post the chain of e-mails that you did or didn't respond to and the email dates. They will all confirm the utter crap you are talking above. The mere fact that you have only responded to this thread now the refund has been processed tells it's own story. Don't tell me..... The thread notifications went in to the same junk folder??

You are a trader, you offer 3 day shipping. It doesn't matter when I order the product or when I speak to you about it, your job is to honour what you sell! The order was placed on the 16th for delivery by the 26th, 10 days to sort out. I emailed you IMMEDIATELY from the paypal email address in which the order was processed and the email address I had used to communicate to you to confirm the order. How dare you say you only had emails from one when you responded to emails from both, again I am happy to post all these up to further incriminate you but I don't think it is necessary, I am sure the whole thread will have enough info for people to make an informed choice as to who is telling the truth.

Let me also point out that YOU DIDNT pay $15 for shipping I DID, are you dillusional or something? Why in earth would I trust you to ship to UK when you couldn't ship mainland within 10 days?!

I really wouldn't mind if from the start you owned up and said, hey sorry man, I fucked up, here is your money back. I contacted paypal and the refund was only processed on 8/30 your end, another lie.

And finally let's talk about a shipping reference.... Not provided, at any point during the transaction. What trader does not provide a shipping reference?.... One who never shipped anything in the first place.

Try doing something positive Tim and people might leave positive feedback, don't think for one minute I wouldn't have done! I even tried to set up a multi buy in the UK for you, in addition if you search the UK owners club you will see before all this I pointed a number of people to your site for parts!

I'm done with this, make your own mind up people

Here is a timeline for you,

8/18/2014 You contact me via email to purchase some parts

9/16/2014 You purchase the parts through the website

9/17/2014 Payment is confirmed secure

9/18/2014-9/19/2014 Products are assembled and packaged for shipping

9/20/2014 Saturday no shipping / not in the shop

9/21/2014 Sunday no shipping / not in the shop

9/22/2014 Monday everything shipped via USPS

9/24/2014 Wednesday I receive an email asking about the package, I track the shipment and it is expected arrive on Friday, a day after you said you needed it by. I tell you that ill try to have the shipment overnighted from its current position and pay for the extra cost out of my pocket. I call USPS and they tell me that once a shipment is in route it cannot be altered. I tell you that since it wont make it I can ship directly to you in the UK at no charge to you, paying the $40+ in shipping on TOP of the $15 I had already paid in shipping + id refund your original shipping costs you paid. You tell me that's no good that if it will not be in NH on Thursday the 25th then you are no longer interested. I tell you this is fine and that I will fully refund you once I receive the parts back in my shop.

9/29/2014 Monday I receive the parts from USPS, I immediately approve the full refund on Paypal.

As far as you paying $15, that is true except for the fact that I REFUNDED all of your money leaving me with $15 out of my pocket that I will not get back. So no im not "delusional" I just know the money that I have lost in doing a last minute transaction with a person from another country.

I responded to 8 out of 11 emails. I seen you had posted in this forum but did not take the time to read through it just for the fact that I know I have not been a bad person to you. I only came in this thread when people on Facebook were telling me "Theres a guy on Rx8club talking sh*t about you."

As far as doing something positive the other 3 ignition systems I shipped to the UK within the last week all ended well. I even received an email stating how much better the car runs now and the guy thanking me for the great product / price.

You waited a month to purchase parts then demand them be delivered within 7 BUSINESS DAYS, I told you in the email it takes 1-2 days to fully assemble the plug wires / bracket / coils / wiring harness and have them ready for shipping. This left only a few days for shipping times. In the end nothing was going to make you happy, I tried to do several things to get you the parts even if that meant me taking a loss but still was not good enough.

Thanks.

Gentlemen, would it not make more sense to communicate directly via email or voice vs indirectly through this forum? I'm tempted to lock this thread until the matter is resolved between BennettBuilt and Jrmurray as this thread is starting to deviate from an overall good guy / bad guy thread to a more personal handling of services owed or reconciled.

Charles;

The issue has already been brought to attention, the conflict has already been recognized, and the remaining piece is the resolution. A resolution will not unfold through intermittent forum posts and if you check the last few posts, the posts were directed between customer and vendor. At that point it makes sense to pick up a phone and work towards resolution as opposed to constant posting to a forum.

Im surprised that you of all people would prefer online banter over direct conflict resolution.

The purpose of this thread was met. ... somone had an issue ... the vendor voiced their side of the story, now a conclusion must be met. Else this thread can go on and on with he-said she saids.

Lastly, I speak for myself and my opinions are my own. My intent here is to moderate and help the parties work towards solution.

paimon.soror, I have to disagree with you. Ultimately the purpose of forum gg/bg posts is not to resolve conflict. It is to publicly approve of or condemn actions of a vendor, and in return for vendors to have the ability to publicly clear their name and demonstrate that their actions were appropriate (or not). This is a public review method that lets future buyers decide whether or not to deal with a vendor and is crucially necessary. IF you require that it be carried out in private, no one gets the benefit of seeing that process.

I see nothing wrong with this thread as it has gone. Both parties have remained civil and facts are being brought to light. It would be a GREAT SHAME if the mods lock a thread before all the info can be posted by both sides.

Looking at the information posted above, assuming it is factual, BennettBuilt did everything "by the book" as perfectly as a vendor possibly can, yet he is still being condemned and accused by this customer and he needs the ability to respond publicly. Give this a chance to play out.

Bennet built i got a local shop to order me one of your coil upgrade kits. (Not because its cheaper) but because the look and originality of that braket is amazing. That being said i am in NB Canada and i got grove auto tk order it for me. You have resently sent him an email saying its on the way. Is that true? Just asking because it has been about a month since i ordered it.

Hey Grove auto ordered a coil kit from our website on May 19th and was shipped out May 23rd, I will message you the tracking number.

Edit: just checked tracking, shows usps tried to deliver it yesterday but the business was closed, says it's being held at the local usps.

Hey, I sent you a message yesterday saying you could come down to the shop this morning to look over the leak and confirm where it is coming from for you but didn't get a reply, it may not have went through.

If you need anything in the future just let me know.

Thanks.
