VA Jeff AKA - Mazdamaniac - Tuning Sessions

First off I would encourage anyone who has had their own experiences with Jeff to create their own thread and share.

This thread is intended to discuss his new tuning service and my overall interations with him during the past 4 years.

I initially bought an AP in 2009 from Jeff while living in CO and after a few months my 8 went through 9 interations of tuning through his datalog tuning service.

I followed the rules as stated by him and never waited more than 3 weeks for a tune. Would also like to mention that he answered all of my noob questions along the way and taught me a lot!

The difference between my 8's stock tune and my custon tune from Jeff were significant (never dyno'd my 8), but my idle, acceleration and overall performance were and still are outstanding!

Over two years ago I moved to Germany and left my 8 in CA. I recently returned and drove from CA to my next stop DC. The change in elevation caused my AFRs at WOT to lean out (substantially) and my LTFT also started to increase.

I emailed Jeff and explained and he told me to try out his new googletalk tuning session... I did last night and after an hour or so of sarcastic banter and me whining about my issues, I have a new tune!

From 2009 until present I have only paid Jeff for the AP and owe him big time for the continued support! Thank you Jeff!

Jeff didn't do anything to help me with mine. I bought my AP in 2009, then in 2011 i paid his fee again when I went FI. He claimed he could tune a Blow through setup.....the only thing he blew was smoke. It went on for a good 6 months before I sold my Cobb and bought an Adaptronic. Guess what, it fired right up and was able to drive the car home a few hours later.

I also had an issue when I bought my AP from him....he tried saying I stole it from him after I did a charge back. I did a charge back because he never shipped the AP to me prior to going to Iraq. It was returned to sender prior to him lying about what happened, then he sold the unit to some other member....what a great guy.

Thats too bad... After I bought mine I too took a trip to Iraq. When I returned I was way past 6 months (was probably past 6 months before I even left) and he still allowed me to submit logs and finished tuning my 8.

As I said in my initial post...I did not create this thread to debate if Jeff is a Good Guy to everyone or not...

IMO and through my interactions with him...he has been great and has gone above and beyond what I paid him for!

Well I guess if someone were wanting a service and had paid nothing, then I would want to be paid first as well?

I know it is probably not what you meant but couldn't resist

Sounds like he likes to make friends rather than serving his customers.

After a couple of driving cycles my 8 is much happier...idle has improved and my AFRs at WOT aren't as lean!
