Talking Test drove this baby today!

I test drove this 3.0ltr baby today and loved it!

Plenty of grunt, nice exhaust note and a sheer pleasure to drive.

SHAME ABOUT THE 2 SEATS!

Have more pics of it in Black (3.0) or Blue (2.5) if anyone's interested I'll post.

Cheers

Oilman, ny wife spotted the Z4 ad yesterday and was immediately won over it, in place of the 8. Just need a towbar and trailer for our two kids and were sorted!

It's had good reviews in other places, and by all accounts is a great improvement over the Z3 (not difficult!)

I'm just not too sure about the front - a bit droopy looking...

I think it's a stunning looking car (best in the grey ) and if I only needed two seats (and had the extra dosh needed) it would be high on my list!

The Miata folks addressed that problem some time ago:

I sat inside one at the motorexpo and must say that I was very impressed with the interior and exterior.

The guy from BMW even turned it on and it sounded great.

For me, two seats is not a problem. Now if only I could say the same about the extra cost!

Unfortunately I cannot afford it. Can barely afford the 8!

I did a writeup on that car some time back, I drove the 2.5 Manual. It's OBSCENELY fun.

And for a fun fact.... the 3.0 is actually 100lbs HEAVIER than the RX-8. So ideally... it should be pretty fun to drive if not moreso than the Z4.

And by the way... Z4 was 10 times more fun to drive than the G35C. And I drove the 2.5 manual, and 3.0 auto... Both of which are slower to the G35C.

THe Z4 is the only car that has come out of BMW since Chris Bangled starting messing stuff up that I like. It does look much better in person than in the pictures, so don't judge until you see it.

I love the wing indicators hidden behind the BMW badge, very nice touch.

they have some kinda resonator on the exhaust so that it sounds cooler, it's supposed to be directed toward the cabin also

Yeah it is tube that pipes some extra engine noise into the cabin.

Its a shame that the RX8 didn't retain the side indicators in the door mirrors (from concept).
