Arrow Steve Saleen breaks with Saleen, Inc. and forms SMS Limited: NEW MODELS

This is news to me. I heard of it coming for a while, but it finally happened. He split with Saleen, Inc. and formed SMS Limited (SMS standing for Steve Mark Saleen).

This now gives the SMS company ability so work on all American muscle cars including the Challenger, Camaro, and of course, the Mustang.

Here's an article about this news including an interview with Steve Saleen himself.

Here's a couple shots of his new prototypes:

Challenger 570 (500hp/450tq: $65k base price) and 570X (700hp/650tq: $85k base price)

SMS 25A Mustang (720hp/667tq: no price: concept)

SMS Mustang 460 (470hp/427tq: price TBA) and 460X (655hp/600tq: price TBA)

What do you guys think?

saleen's takeover company also said they would not cover any old warranties.... bad move as mr. saleen decided to step in and honor them instead. there's an article somewhere. i don't think saleen will be getting any return customers anytime soon

The hood doesn't fit well on the (passenger side) front of the silver Mustang. It's actually off by quite a bit. OK, so it has 720 hp, but you think they would pay more attention to that before releasing public pictures.

So he sold the Saleen name to foot the bill for SMS?

Might regret that later down the road OR might be able to buy his own name back if things go well.

That silver Mustang is horrendous and whats up with the inside of the scoops painted red?

I think that mustang looks sweet, minus the back end... But the front and sides look pretty nice to me...

That blue challenger is SICK I wonder what footwork mods they have for it.

And on a side note... is it just me or in that article does Steve Saleen looks like a battle-hardened George Constanza?

Just did some more digging, both Challenger variants are supercharged 5.7 Hemis, and both models will carry a bumper-to-bumper factory warranty and are available through any Dodge dealer in the United States! I think we may have a winner here...

Some more shots too:

I'm looking forward most to their Camaros. If the 425hp SS starts at just $29.5k, I wonder what the SMS models' prices will be.......
