Speedsource wreck
Did anyone see the race today? Another car went off track and foolishly tried to get back on track blindly. A Speedsource RX-8 was there though. The 8 went airborn and flipped twice midair. It's completely destroyed. Sad day. Glad the driver was OK but that was a terrible move from the guy who went off track. I haven't seen the video online yet. Anyone got it?

edit: I saw on other boards that the name of the team is Mullin Motorsport, can anyone confirm this? I didnt catch what John Doonan said, and I dont have the race recorded.

To further what rotarygod had said:
It was the Matt Connelley Motorsports DP car that pulled out in front of them on an active racetrack. The MCM DP car spun in a really retarded fashion (bad driving?), went into the dirt, and everyone is assuming at this point that the driver (Mark Ingram I believe.. don't remember the first name) couldn't see due to the dirt that covered the car and basically pulled out perpendicular to the #70 Speedsource car. The Speedsource car hit it, immediatly went airborne, rolled twice, and lande facing the opposite way with the passenger side front completely gone. A door panel flew off the car while mid-air, so that gives you an idea as to how hard that collision was.
The Rolex officialls IMMEDIATLY called Ingram into their office to "discuss" the issue, as words could not describe how stupid of a decision it was. Even if the guy could not see, why the hell would you then immediatly pull back onto a racetrack if you're blind? I'm not sure what he was thinking, but everyone (announcers, Speed Source team, etc.) was saying it was a stupid move.
It was a really sucky deal because it happened on the first lap and ruined any points chances they had.
Ohh well. Here's to next season!

What a moron. To pull out right before a turn on the outside with everyone getting ready for the corner.
Glad he's ok.

I feel like crying
But behind the accomplishments lingers the memory of cutting up the 3-time race winning car and loading it onto the trailer on carpet dollies. Perhaps the search for explanation is best left behind on the track.
On a positive note
SpeedSource heads into a busy off-season. Building a new No. 70 GT RX-8 is a top priority, and the shop is also finishing additional GT chassis to be announced for 2008. SpeedSource is currently taking additional orders for 2008 deliveries.

One would like to think that rich money-lugging dumbasses would not be allowed to buy their way into sanctioned events. Obviously, the f#$knut driving the number 31 doesn't have a clue how to behave on a racetrack.
Unbelievable.
Fortunately, the dipsh#t didn't kill someone. If he had, that would certainly have been manslaughter in my book. Sports or not, you have to behave with some common sense. A little respect for human life helps, too.

I hope Nick is alright for the long term.
That was the worst driving I've ever seen a race car drive.
You expect that on HSPE but not proffessionals.
I hope he gets suspended next year for a few races do to that bone head manuever.
Umm... Let's see...... can't see out the winshield so lets just drive out on the track at high speed.

Also just saw the video: what a freaking retard to come onto the track like that!
