Here's mine '98 Triumph Daytona 955i, I love this old bike, unique 3 cylinder, makes an awesome sound, runs and handles great for a 12yr old bike.

I was actually going to post a thread but figure this is a good place to do it. How much is your insurance? Looking to get back into bikes. Used to ride for a few years but that was a while ago. Last bike was a KTM 640. 21 years old, in the military, no speeding tickets or any driving offenses, about to get stationed in Norfolk, VA. I've tried the online quotes but it refuses to acknowledge Norfolk so I'm stuck. Looking to get a CBR600RR a couple years old just to get back into the groove of things.

i pay $450/ year for basic liability + uninsured motorist via www.ridewithmcgraw.com. thanks to coldflame for referring me to them, btw...

i obtained my M1 license in 12/2009, and bought my bike used in 1/2010. so, it's too expensive to get collision- since i'm a newbie. with collision, my insurance would've been easily into the thousands. too expensive to consider.

I linked in my bikes - right now a '08 Road King, a '09 DRZ400SM (with an extra set of 21/18 excel & knobbies on the side) and my will-never-sell-saved-my-***-on-numerous-track-days 2000 Fireblade. Also included my toy hauler to get the bikes and me around plus my "winter beater"/tow vehicle...all 390hp of it!

It's all bliss right now - a bike for ever mood, and a way of escaping winters.

it looks like a modded, european version of the FJR.

in 2011 yamaha's importing it to canada as the FZ8 i think. it's basically a cafe-racer version (no fairings) version of the FZ6-R i believe... dunno y we dont' get it in the usa and only europe and canada gets it. no fair!

I had a newer bike like bse50, got rid of it. Couldn't resist, got one at an auction for 200bucks, have spent a bit of time to clean it up and out. It's stock but not for too long, I am going to work out the kinks and modify in the winter. (acually I have lowered it). It's not pretty but I really like it.

Cool choice!
I think that our bikes ar perfect daily drivers. No maintenance, wonderful mpg and comfortable enough to do a short trip if you wish.
The 2 cylinder engine also makes it a good first bike, you have to learn how to use the gears properly or it will be a pain to drive.
With that said i'd only trade it for a husqvarna or a triumph

Smile Don't get me started!

Here are my 02-CBR954RR, 04-CBR1000RR & my wife's 06 GSXR600. We are big MotoGP fans (get well Vale!) and were FIM WSB for the short year Ben Spies was there. DVR's are a must! What happend to the Duc's compared to last year, poor Haga. We live in FL and do have a Laguna trip planned (by flight) maybe for next year. Long term, a Mugello GP visit would be very nice. I guess 2011 can look like this, funny talk (CN fans), Spies to Yamaha with Lorenzo, Vale to Ducati with Nikki (we've been there before), Stoner to Honda(wouldnt wish to be Pedrosa teammate to anyone). Dono where Dovi would go, he's doing great and deserves a factory ride. Will certainly be interesting. AMA, DMS, whatever you want to be called, shame on you! You lost my dedicated week vacation to hang at Daytona, VIP seat purchase-Daytona 200, shirts, souvenirs, what a disappointment!!!! Don't blame you 4 leaving Mat, it's a life endangering circus here compared to overseas (tracks) where it is taken as it is supported, seriously. Ok, i'm off my soap box, sorry about that. Just very disappointed for what I once looked forward to. Thank goodness we have Nikki, Spies and Edwards there to represent, Stay healthy and do well guys, we're cheering from you!!!

Oh Edwards sucks. That guy has a lousy attitude... Hayden is a great guy tho. Spies? He probably should have won another WSB title before making the jump... seen too many guys try GP too early and never amount to anything.

Nice 954 by the way.. I had one of those a few years ago. Had to sell it after I caught myself doing an indicated 175 on a public road. I cannot be trusted with that sort of power!

Thumbs up

Thank you. Man, it's gotta be tough to have a license or even insurance after that. We love bikes at home, they are great therapy/escape. I'd like to see Nicky (again) get a title or Spies who is not doing bad considering this is his first but per MotoGP. The rules for 2010 were any newbies have to be on satelite teams for the first year before going full factory. But overall he's averaging 5 and 6 places, with a 4th and even got a podium, not bad for year 1. Like I told him a few years ago when I met him at Daytona, he gets better every year.
