Poetic justice

Due to the unusually high rainfall this season, we are now enjoying a bumper crop of wild flowers out here in California. Sunday morning, I took my wife for a nice ride through the local country side in my RX-8 so we could enjoy the flowers and ultra-green hills. I was in no hurry.

As luck would have it, some a-hole in a large land-yacht started tailgating me. He missed several good opportunities to pass. Suddenly, I spotted some black and white fur, just barely visible over the next rise in the road. It was a freshly whacked skunk and it was perfectly lined up with my left wheels.

At the very last possible moment, I swerved around it and then watched in my mirror as the a-hole ran over the skunk with his left wheels. He hit it dead-center. I couldn't help but laugh. I hope he enjoyed the new odor of his car! :D

Well, thanks. I'm still chuckling!

The land-yacht looked like a late '80's or early '90's Lincoln Continental.

Central coast. We drove out highway 58, 229 to Creston, highway 41 to Atascadero and then on to Morro Bay on the coast. Wonderful scenery and wonderful, windy roads. Might do highway 1 to Cambria, San Simeon and on towards Monterey next weekend. That's probably one of the nicest drives in the state, especially for a sports car.
