New Pontiac Commercial
Anyone just catch it during the final four? Pretty cool commercial! I'm excited to see how the Solstice turns out, especially if they end up adding FI to it.

Just got back from the Vancouver car show and saw the Solstice - it looks terrific, even beter in person than the pictures on the internet. I talked to a rep from GM Canada for about 15 minutes about a variety of topics - quite interesting. I'll post pictures and some comments tomorrow.

The other two cars that he was rather impressed with were the Lexus IS350, BMW 3 series, and the New M from Infiniti. He said the IS looked much better in person than it has in any photos he's seen.

I got this 2004 Sunfire two Christmases ago . . . one month later they reveal the Solstice at NAIAS. It took everything I had not to break down in tears right then.

The answers to that are:
1) No
2) Yes
Long story short, I had spent my last two hundred bucks on a new engine for my beater Civic. I was unemployed, flat broke, etc. etc. etc. My millionaire father (who left my mom when I was one year old) calls me a week before Christmas and tells me to come over. I come over, he and my stepmom tell me that they are giving me a brand-new Sunfire. I couldn't even special-order it because the rebate package would expire by then. I got a manual with the "Sun & Sound" package--sunroof, 6-speaker system with XM radio and .mp3 CD player.
I missed out on the sport seats, sport suspension, and nice steering wheel, but that also means I'm not lugging around a ridiculous dual-pipe exhaust. The stock seats are TERRIBLE, and the body roll is panic-inducing, but the Ecotec pulls hard and gets great highway milage.
In silver, the hideous front end actually isn't too bad, and the atrocious build quality is made up for by the fact that I'll trade it in for an RX-8 immediately after the warranty goes kaput.

some pics from the show
I went to the NY show this weekend. The sompany that impressed me the most was also Saturn. They had a nice assembly of auto's ranging from a new minivan to the sky. Ike, I think your brother was taking about this...the Aura. It looked awesome and comes with a 250Hp...(pic below)
Also I agree the Is 350 looked great and I thought the gs300 looked pretty good. A few others mentionables were..the ford GT and an aluminum polished ford GR1 both drew big crowds, The bimmer 330I looked very good in person, the vetts, cobalt SS, bimmer 6, the new civic, and the sports caddy's. The audi, bmw, merc, Acura, and subaru sections seemed to have huge crowds. Mazda was pretty crowded but only had 1 RX8, the shinka edition. Mitsu didn't seem very packed and it didn't look like the new eclipse was getting much attention. Others that looked alot less packed were Saab, pontiac, and buick. Lots of the new concept cars seemed to be crossover vehicles, with Infiniti taking the weirdest with a giant six door mini copper that seats six and the best looking one being the subaru tribeca. Jeep had the best display by far, with test drives thru a mountain course including rocks, logs, water ponds and giant dirt hills. (pics). I go to this every 2 or 3 years and this years was the best.

Sounds like Saturn may be turning a corner and the Aura looks pretty nice.
Also can't believe how much cars are starting to go for...one rep for dodge told us that the fully loaded durango we were looking at in the show goes for "ONLY" 44K. For a Dodge
