yah, and then switch out the engine for a 245 HP turbo engine rather than the 170HP that currently is the highest available.

you do realize that the Mazdaspeed 3 is much more than cosmetic, right? RIGHT?

Blah. It's a hatch and has FWD syndrome.

I don't care how much power it has--I would never trade my RX8 for it. If I can help it I don't plan on buying another Front-wheel drive car ever again--plus its a hatchback--hatches don't do it for me.

FWD but with LSD so that helps quite a bit.

I wonder how they detuned the engine and of course how hard/expensive it would be to get the power back.

I wish they had been more aggresive with the look of the car. Oh well, i'd hit it.

Still FWD, lol.

To detuned engine , either ECU or lower the PSI.

Just not a fan of FWD. But if I was into it I'd consider the car.

This car is gonna blow alot of cars away, just wait. I've heard (just rumored) that a big part of detuning the Mazdaspeed3 engine (which is the Mazdaspeed 6 engine), and lowering it's horsepower, was ecu tuning and just restricting the exhaust. That'll be easy horsepower to get back.

An aftermarket exhaust may release a few horsepower. It won't be easy at all to change the tune though. In fact it will be damn near impossible to reflash the ECU because it's a direct injection setup. Short of Mazdaspeed releasing an aftermarket chip, I doubt we'll ever see any software support for the MS3 and MS6.

Yeah I kind've agree, though I think changing the exhaust on the Mazdaspeed3 will make more of a difference than it does for the Rx-8.

The Mazda 3 is the only car I would consider getting the wagon version of. In general I hate wagons/hatchbacks.

Something about the Mazda3 hatch that I really really like.

My dealer said fully loaded around $22K, I know that's just an estimate.

I like the Sedan but I think the Mazda 3 wagon is about the worst looking one on the road. I think the MP5 was much better looking. I also think Mazda is making a mistake by not offering it in sedan form as well.

Found this on Car & Drivers website. Over 250 hp and 280 lbs of torque, so it too will be faster than the RX8. Mazdaspeed MX5 I'm sure is next. RX8 is done. Mazda's not good enough to make this car competitive in todays climate of hi-power cars. JMHO.
